Pre-mixed grain sub filter bags
    #26622259 - 04/23/20 12:34 PM (3 years, 9 months ago)

Hey so am.i the only one doing this?

I mix composted horse manure, coir, straw and hydrated grain together. Fill extra large filter patch bags up to just below the filter, maybe 2 inches, roll 3 times tape down put inside tyvek mailing envelope and pc at 15psi for 3 hours.

I can fit 4 bags into my 23 at pressure cooker, I put mason jars under the tray so they arent sitting in water fully exposed to steam.

I then inject each bag with 30cc's of liquid culture evenly distributed around the inside, give it a good massage and then wait.

Ay about day 5 they have quite a bit of growth going on so I massage and shake and are fully colo sized withing 10 days.

I use a flow hood so petris and culture is all fully sterile and theres no transfering or grain to bulk, just sterilize it all together and boom

Once it is 100% colonized I isually.let it sit for another 3 or 4 days to consolidate and ensure everything is fully colonized, then I like to break it up and put it into plastic shoeboxes to fruit. Recovers in 2 days and fruits not long after.

Because it's all fully sterile as it colonize casing I easily get 5 or 6 flushes from em , I dont dunk I keep the moisture up enough that they dont dry out very much along the way.

Idk its working for me, I use either 100ml syringes or my inoculation gun and liquid culture is super easy to mass create from healthy agar wedges so I go from inoculation to fruiting in like 2 weeks

Anybody have any input on this by chance? Maybe if theres a faster way for large grows? I'm trying to find a way to keep a large scale grow goin with somewhat of a constant fruiting cycle in place and this is what I came up with

Making an all in one bag like that's as old as the hobby is.
