Hey guys so I went to go do some agar work and every single one was contaminated before i can even use it.

I had the agar hideing behind the two spawn bags circled.

I have some older agar that's fine most of them at least. It's in a separate spot away from the cabinets.

What could be causing this issue?
I do everything in a SAB in my bathroom inoc,G2G, agar etc..
I start out with spraying the whole bathroom with a 10% bleach solution. Wait 20 mins bring in all my tools and such and wipe down table and SAB with 70% iso. Then get to work.
My contamination rates have been on the higher side. I mostly do monotubs and everytime after the 1st or 2nd flush I usually have to get rid of the tub because contamination.
Any guidance I would appreciate this is driving me mad.

Do you pc those little containers or are you pouring them. When I get contamination on the edges its typically from me having my fat fingers over the plate when im taking the lid off. If you did pc the containers then you need to up your pc time by a little bit.

Proper agar vessels. Ketchup cups are not sterile. You can't PC the lids so you're going to have contamination issues until you get some jelly jars, or pasty plates, or holy grail containers, or Petri dishes.

What he said^ ya need something that says pp5 on the bottom. Also bathrooms tend to be the area of your house with the most spores in it due to mildew n shit growing from all the nice warm moisture that comes with showering. I do mine on my kitchen table, sometimes i spray a soapy water solution into the sab, sometimes i dont haha. Have had success either way, its just about makin proper movements

Yeah, those are not autoclavable and they're not sterile from packaging. Get either some pre-sterilized plastic plates, or sterilize glass or PP dishes on your own.
Bathroom seems like a bad environment for me purely for the lack of proper table and seat. Kitchens are probably just as dirty, but it's very important that you can sit down and focus on your work.
