Boy was that a great learning experience tried to cut corners and do a no pour but it ended up melting together into a ball

Better yet, pour them. Trying to pour before PC is going to be some boil over messiness in all probability.

I never got any issues with glass boilover and many people here share my experience. I don't see any benefits to pouring glass dishes after the PC cycle.

Guess I didn’t see any info of anyone advising against the PC of petris. Done it just fine with PP5 cups. Although i had a PP5 container in the PC and it got warped. Guess Sticking with pyrex is overall better.

POOOOOUUURRRR!!!!
Just get over the learning curve and it will allow you to take your agar game to the next level!
You can use both a SAB and a flowhood so even posible on the cheap side of life

I love my glass petris. As long as you let the pc cool down naturally you shouldn't have any issues

What's next level about pouring vs no-pouring if you use glass? I've tried both ways and no-pour is just so superior in many ways to pouring. No watching of bottle to get to the right temperature, sterility guaranteed, no clumping when the bottom cools down, ...

Glass no-pours are sexy as hail, and Pyrex is nice but unnecessary.

Clumping is my biggest issue because im usually not babysitting the bottle before it solidifies... rather pour it ,pc it and forget it until I go pull it out to do agar work

After you put me onto it, i tried it and it works great. Once i did it the first time i wondered what reason i would have to pour them after the pc cycle... I can't think of one. I don't think I'll go back to pouring them in the Sab anytime soon. I'm familiar with both methods. Also, i agree with lady, soda glass ones work suitably.

I did the same thing earlier this week! Next day went out and bought some tupperwares, boiled up some agar, poured into the little things, PC'd at 15psi for 45 minutes, threw some spores on, now waiting for them...Pushing 72 hours now and trying not to look until tomorrow, hopefully see something nice on em!

- They stay nice and stable in your PC
- They stay nice and stable in your cabinet
- You don't need any additional packaging for storage
- They won't open accidentally when you move them around.

What are you wrapping them with? I'd assumed saran would melt.

It's saran. It melts to some degree, which makes it really tight around the dishes. If you're loading multiple stacks, avoid having them touch or put some tin foil between them.
