that sucks... maybe you could try putting the jars half submerged in boiling water for an hour or so...... I wouldn't lay them down in the pressure cooker if water can get inside the jars..... good luck!

>>>I dont have anything I could put in there to rest the jar on.. Hmm
A broken piece of brick, tile or a rock would do to prop the jar on an angle, such that the water does not wet the polyfil. So change to lids with polyfil and ditch the coffee filter gig. Adapt.

here's what I do with my brf and wbs jars, even though my jars can stand upright in my PC. Put the lids on normally...with the seals facing down, like you were going to can the jars. Screw the rings on tight. When you PC them, the lids will keep extra water out of the jars. Let them cool overnight. When you're ready to innoculate, punch holes in the lids, with a sterilized nail, and innoculate as usual. You'll want to do this in a glove box, or use oven tek, as you'll have a vacuum in your jars, and they'll suck in air, when you punch your first hole. Like I said, I do this with the jars standing upright, but it should work with them on their sides as well.
