Some days I feel like breaking down and crying or just running from it all. I want to scream my dread and anger at all of it, and then return to tears.

So do it?

Catharsis is needed for good reason; it's part of the road to accepting your lot. So shed the shit. It's not gonna make your problems go away but it'll sure as shit make you feel better.

And then maybe, with a slighly clearer head and slightly less weight on your shoulders, you can take a step forward towards the light.

We all go through this stuff man.

Maybe I do need to tell it out, scream, I’m just used to holding everything in all the time and it showing much emotions.

Every now and then..like once a year, I let everything out over the course of 1 glorious and ecstatic night of catharsis.  After all that shit inside me leaves, I feel light and unified in spirit with the world, like things are in balance again , and that I couldn’t believe I didn’t do it earlier.
It involves some cursory pondering, moonlight, starlit light, lots of screaming, crying, yelling and finally laughter and joy and all the in between .

I kid you not.  1 a year.  A tradition.

A renewel.

But I will continue supporting you, Mr.Thanatos, as best I can via the forums by being a true friend.

Have you tried manual labor or exercise like pushups? What is your diet like? If you are not living healthy then switching to a healthy lifestyle might clear some of that fog you got up there in that noggin.

Just let it out Thanatos. Let out your emotions because they are still real to you. Living out your emotions has always helped me, no matter how painful or sad they are.

And while you are at it, can u slap some Cops in the face? As hard as you can too. And scream out "You're not real to me!!!" while you slap them. Use pure, raw emotion while you do it. It will make you feel better cause cops are not real and :fuckthepolice:

I’ve tried that but it doesn’t really work. Video games only distracts me temporarily from it all

Dude seriously at this point you’re just being a bitch. Diet, exercise, and proper sleep are essential for your mental and physical health. This is the foundation for everything. If these needs are not met first then nothing else matters. You need to quit smoking and doing drugs/drinking and seperate yourself from any toxic people/situations in your life. Sexual health is also important, so get laid. This will certainly take time and patience to achieve.

That right there is the first step towards a cure for your depression. It’s not an easy task and there are no ways around it. You don’t have to get into detail and argue with yourself about ‘what is toxic’ or ‘is this situation really toxic’. You know truly what you need to do so do it.

Breathe, breathe in the air
Don't be afraid to care
Leave but don't leave me
Look around, choose your own ground
For long you live and high you fly
And smiles you'll give and tears you'll cry
And all you touch and all you see
Is all your life will ever be

Think about it Thano

That’s not really helpful at all.

Honestly I did think that seeing the future was proof of solipsism.

But the thing is it’s only in my dreams that I see things and there’s no way to know which dream is right until it happens. I mean if there were a time frame or something that would help.

Mostly that it’s dreams only and I don’t know what’s going to happen until it does happen and then it’s deja vu.

Not sure if it proves solipsism.

I like to think of it as an example of the unique power and potential of the brain.  As expressed by or through various faculties of the human mind.

I believe depression often gets mischaracterized as disorder caused by trauma, negative thought patterns and general apathy towards things as they are, and people try to snuff out the causes of depression thinking those are it's actual roots. Instead I see depression as something which causes trauma to come up again, and which causes negative thoughts to surface, instead of being born of those things. People are so often looking for the source of their depression semantically and psychoanalytically that we often avoid entirely the health, wellness and lifestyle aspects of moving forward rather than trying to fix what's behind you or in your thoughts.

That you only tried diet and exercise for a little bit and it didn't work immediately is somewhat telling. As a similar example, nicotine addicts often believe that smoking reduces their stress and anxiety, when the opposite is true - nicotine withdrawal causes stress and anxiety. It's one of the prime motivators people use to keep smoking, and a similar kind of circular reasoning is at play in many people's depression.

Depression is more often a medical issue caused by things like activity level, addictive habits, diet and a general lack of both social and personal stimulation - than it is by the things you think about when depressed. It's easy to think of a certain thought or realization that comes up when you are depressed as somehow formative in the causes of your depression because they are a common thought when you have a negative feeling, but you are ultimately chasing at rainbows if thinking the answer to alleviating your depression is found by solving the answers to your thoughts while depressed.

You mention having tried diet, sleep, social interaction and exercise before, but at what level truly and how does that compare to your current habits and relationships? How do you know that these aren't the sources of your depression, and if those things aren't, in as concise a way you can think of for your own benefit, what do you believe to be the actual source?

I was depressed for many years before changing my sleep, exercise and dieting habits. It doesn't happen overnight, but as weird as it sounds you can literally feel the difference.

To point out why I'm saying all this, you have alluded to a deeper problem at hand somehow related to both depression and solipsism, but have not been completely clear and concise as to what the problem is nor why you believe you are depressed. I'm under the impression that you believe you can solve both the underlying question of whether this is a solipsist reality and alleviate your depression at the same time, when perhaps the best route is to instead alleviate your depression through otherwise effective methods and tackle the issue of solipsism from an entirely new perspective.
