Fixing the dam presure cooker. FUCK IT
    #2662012 - 05/11/04 05:19 AM (19 years, 10 months ago)

Ok shroomers, This is the deal, Geko needs to start growing shrooms again, But there is only one thing that stops him, And that is, His presure cooker has a leak in the rubber seal.
Now is what geko needs to knoe is, Cand he fix it some how, Or will the decrease in presure effect the sterlisation :crazy2:
Anyway geko just needs to get over this hurdle and it should be smooth sailing from there.

I have in the past used silicone rubber sealer (comes in a tube in the USA) Your best bet by far is to buy a replacement seal. Check the manufactorer's website.A half assed repair could be dangerous! A decrease in pressure will affect the sterilization of course,in some case extending the time in the pressure cooking will take care of this...But why take the gamble? Buy a new gasket!

check out www.cookscorner.com --- they have a fair number of PC supples (esp. for mirro & presto brands) & there are other online supplers of PC stuff (even in canada  ), even for supposedly "obsolete" models... ya just gotta poke around ( www.google.com )...

fuck no!

look in the yellow pages under "small appliance repair parts" or something like that & make a few phone calls; many places will order it for you if they don't have it in stock (bring them the  make & model number, or maybe even the old gasket...)

Well the problem is that they do not make these type of PC anymore, This is the second one iv had and it is very effective.
Actuly they both have a fucked rubber seal, How bout a heap of car engine silicone, That stuff can take heat and presure.
Or maybe some car engine gasket sealent :crazy2:

why don't you tell us the make & model of your pressure cooker & we will see how long it takes for somebody to find a link to a commercial source for "obsolete" PCs...

my old mirro PC is no longer manufactured, but it has the model number stamped into the bottom, and i can still get gaskets & pressure fuses & weights...
