Jars looking pretty dry
    #2661954 - 05/11/04 03:57 AM (20 years, 8 months ago)

Afoaf's Pf Jars were innoculated a few days ago and he thinks they look a little dry. Is there any safe way to hydrate them? Would injecting sterile water work? He'll probly just let em be and see how they turn out, but if there's a good way to hydrate em, He'd like to hear it.

A bit on the dry side is better than a bit on the damp side imho.
I would wait and see how it goes, if it grows then stalls it might be
worth injecting sterile water in, but I doubt you will need to.

I have a rye jar that was pretty dry, and is going VERY slow. Thought it wasn't going to do anything, since my other rye jars were almost at 100%, and this one jar wasn't showing any growth. A few days later, and it's showing growth.

Cool, i'll just tell him to chill and let nature take its course. Atleast this time he won't have to worry bout wet spot mold.
