Found 3 Year Old Liquid Culture

Whats up good people,
Ive been out of the hobby for some time now (first post in 3 years) but slowly and surely I have been getting sucked back in. I was going through a box of some of my old grow stuff and I found a mysterious envelope that was left untouched. I opened the envelope and to my surprise, TWO LIQUID CULTURE SYRINGES. I was confused just as much as I was excited. I could not for the life of me remember who or where I procured these from. They are labeled (P. P 6/11) and (H.ula 6/1). My guess is that it is one Psilocybe panaelous syringe and one Huautla syringe.
My question is, are these still viable? Either way I am going to test them out on pasty plates. I just wanted to start a dialogue with others who have used very old unrefrigerated LCs and get some insight.
P.S. If you think you gave me these shoot me a PM! I would love to thank you or get some background information on this transaction.

Lol I honestly doubt they are still alive but do an experiment. I'd try growing it on a petri dish. Cheap and easy way to see if you can perform a resurrection.

Yeah put them to agar and see what happens. These PE were grown using LC that was well over 2 years old, only difference I noticed was slower recovery time on grain.

Those are nice! Did you keep working with that specific PE strain (cloning from fruit)? And if so did you continue to notice that slower recovery time?

That was the last cubensis grow I will be doing for a while so I didn't bother cloning, I've been trying to branch out to other species. But I did make plenty of spore swabs for future use

I just revived a 3-5 year old LC I had in a jar in my cabinet. Took about a week or 10 days on agar to get going again. It's growing very very slowly, but it seems to be clean. I think it was a very slow culture to start with and it seems even slower now. Got two jars of it almost colonized now, planning to fruit them. If you can get your LC's going again, you can prolly fruit them and get fresh prints.
Also panaeolus and psilocybe are different genera and should never appear together in the same name, so PP wouldn't make sense for that. Could be PR for Puerto Rico if the bottom of the R wore away.

I spawned some popcorn casings and had double-overlay cause I didn't put enough hydrogen peroxide in my automated aquarium mister. I only got one mushroom so I cut off the head part where the seeds fall from and put it in a jar of LC and sprayed it all over a tin of PF cakes I made with gravel, cardboard, and bisquick in my microwave. I think it will be good cause B+ is so potent. Triggered yet? Only a square would say "a cube is a cube."
No, this does not look right...

That is awesome. The longevity of mycelium if kept in the right conditions is wickedly cool. I should have caught that name mistake but I was just so baffled at the time. There is the possibility that they might be medicinal or gourmet. I wonder how stoned out of existence I was when I acquired these but I am honestly glad I forgot it was a nice surprise
