Use of lotion in place of sleeves/gloves in SAB

Anyone have any informed opinions about this?
AFAIK, the point of gloves/sleeves in SAB work isn't to provide a clean surface, but to prevent stuff (ie skin/hairs) falling from your hands/arms into sterile areas.
That being the case, I'm wondering whether a "greasy" skin lotion would do the same job for transfer work.

Why not just thoroughly wash hands? AFAIK washing hands thoroughly with soap and for appropriate length of time is enough and probably gets rigs of dead skin cells too. Also, working with oily hands leaving oils on stuff dont sound very good. And you're not suppose to touch sterile stuff with your hands anyways.

I'd be surprised if skin didn't start shedding within 5min of arms/hands drying. Seems in line with what I've read from RR and others.
I got the impression that most people were using gloves + alcohol.

I use lotion on my arms to help dampen anything down - and this was using a SAB religiously to still using my flowhood. Plus, it makes 1/2 my arm silky smooth, and that's hawt.

tbf I have been using lotion after showering since I had skin issues as a kid. So afaik I dont have skin drying issues... maybe for people who have it they need to use lotion after washing hands.

Hmm... interesting idea. I've only used gloves and iso on my hands. I gues a little coconut oil after washing wouldn't hurt. Thx.
