Cactus extraction tek recommendations please 1

I'm fairly savvy at other extractions, but I've never done a cactus extraction before. I have several feet of quality cactus that I want to have a go at.
Recommendations on teks please? Pro's and cons would be welcome knowledge. I've been going around in circles reading teks but there's nothing like experience.
Thanks

I'm not super keen on making tar, more keen on extracting a pure product. If tar is really the best route though I'll reconsider.

Nope. That's why using citric acid is problematic you'll never rid sodium citrate or excess citric if you overly acidify your PH past the point of salting your free base mescaline which is very easy with ctiric acid water. That's why if you read the subsequent pages in the tek people complain of large sparkly yields with seemingly less than potent activity. It's leftover citric acid crystals that are mixed in with the mescaline citrate making yields look deceptively good when they are impure.

That's very good ShroomDoom, I could definitely do that, I've already got everything but a stainless baster, I'm sure a glass pipette will substitute fine though. I'm in a jam for ethanol at the moment already for a couple of other things. They don't sell Everclear in my country and all BP grade ethanol is making hand sanitizer for COVID cleanup, but I could probably find 50ml if I try. What material are the buckets you are using? Just plain old HDPE?

Food grade or plain HDPE will work. I bet isopropyl would work since grain ethanol is so scarce.

Cool, thanks. I'm gonna let these bits of cactus lay for a while then have a go at that.
Do you get much evaporation on you limonene? Is it still good to reuse afterwards? Do you use the cores, or just not bother?
Did you ever try hydrochloric acid to finish with hcl rather than sulphate?

I have done a crude tarball/everclear extraction on the outermost green dried peeled skins and both times were spectacular. Very simple. The mess of scraping and the stickiness were the worst thing.I can deal with that. I tried what was sold to me as "chocolate mescaline" back in the 80-90's and it seemed the same form what I remember. It's been to long though. I have 4 doses of tar still made up. This thing going on right now blew that 4 person trip.

I've seen people get results like this with pedro extractions.

I must say I like the look of the sulfate crystals in the other tek mentioned, soo much fluffy pointy needles. Looked like fiberglass.

If you sketch up a tek I'll be super interested. The community as a whole would be grateful, even if you don't hear it and see it you will be changing people's lives for the better. That's the way it is with combined teks. People refer to the original ones as a reference, but those who have tried them all have the experience to pick and choose the strengths of each and make the most of them.
I'm researching now, I'd just be the first of many who would appreciate your experience.

So hard to get those chemicals needed for the teks during lockdown... Hope you find what you are after Northener.

Thanks Blazer. I've got many chemicals already... no stranger to making ambrosia and other elixirs.
Understanding the way with cactus is new to me though. I've only been growing for a couple of years and have been gifted a large section of potent cactus with promise of more if I need/want it. Now I'm at the research stage.
I have a broken bit of glass at the moment I just ordered another one, gonna take a month or so for a new one to come. Plenty of time to figure out exactly what I'm going to do.

What did you break man?
Do you know the cactus type you were given? A quality cut is the best place to start, some are barely worth the effort and should just stay ornamental.

Broke my big piston pipette.
I have a separatory funnel but rarely use it. Too much mucking about. I've just been using wine flagons and corks for extraction vessels. Cheap and easy to replace. Was looking at some cheap large beakers just the other day. Local and easy to get too. Thinking about what you were saying, long spin on a stir plate rather than agitation. Great minds think alike.
I'm not sure what the cuts I have are. The person who gave them to me is a trusted friend, says it's very potent.
You gonna sketch up some notes for us mate? No need to get bogged down in safety and stuff... Just an outline with the important points.

For me the good old fashion isopropyl extraction always did wonders But I can’t lie , I think I’m only gonna go with fresh tea from this point on , there just something about it that’s special in my experience

A stir plate that could spin a 5L flagon of thick soup would be nice., that a pipette and couple beakers would be basically all you need.
Hi tripsten.
Some of the things left behind would be like sugars, salts and fats.

I don’t live in a place where I’d have a large enough space to plant them at current but am moving somewhere sunny soon Is it possible to rent plots of gardens to grow large quantities like that ? And what should I use , ( the seeds were a gift , )

Cactus seeds are not grown outdoors. Usually you let them germinate indoors, in small trays with high humidity. Then, once they are seedlings of an inch or so (takes roughly a year), you can repot them into small pots.
Check out the ethnobotanical garden subforum. There is a trichocereus growers thread, maybe ask your question there.
