First tub, first birth, first run.

So, here is my first run (4 days in). Just looking for validation or pointers.
Birthed, dunk'd n rolled. Put them in sgfc. Mist/fan about 4 times a day, work disrupts more misting for it. I do noticed when I get home the cakes are dry. I'm in Socal, it stays dry. Right now outdoor temps are mid 60's on avg. and going up. I have a hygrometer/thermometer coming, but Amazon is slow atm. so I should get better indoor readings sooner than later.
The no-rolled cake had about 5 pins in-vitro, so I was told not to roll that one. I have 21 more jars starting, its hard to get spores sometimes, so I do not want to waste what I have. I know this is my first run and I shouldn't expect the world but I am making this my new hobby so trying to maximize my learning experience more than anything.
Not just for the fun of the trip, but the growing process is fun.

Looks good. BRF cakes take a while to start up, but once they start they keep giving for a while, in my experience.
I have a very dry environment and I have to mist a lot. I taped over most of the holes in my SGFC because I was getting too much FAE.
Looks great to me! What variety?
I went from BRF cakes to Uncle Ben's really quickly. Way faster yield.

Thank you!
I mist a lot when I am home. No sure what variety If I had to guess, Mexican.
I was thinking of blocking of the bottom holes later. There still has been some humidity. But it seems to be a very dry atmosphere in the chamber.
All of my supplies were gifted so far. Once this org stuff runs I will UB for sure. Lots of posts speak of it.
Wasn't sure why the bag of gypsum until I read today. To bad, next cakes will have some.

Update,
13 days since birth. Covered most of the holes to keep humidity up. Misting like a mofo. Cool humid day today should ease my forearm stress

I never use gypsum.
I wouldn't block the bottom holes, the cakes look a little FAE starved and mottled like over misted.
I would cut back on the misting schedule and fan with the lid a couple times a day.
Fruit formation looks good, just wet.

Thanks for the input. I was actually thinking they might not be getting enough moisture. I'll take some of the tape off when I get home n cut back a bit on misting.
Not doing this tek next run. Fun learning it though. Will keep it for playing with. I'm def. more intrigued by rye>mono on my next go.
Can you shred brf to rye? Or, just inoculate the rye? I can go either way at this point. Just curious as to what works best. Or shred brf to coir>mono?
Gypsum seems to be 50/50 on ppls input. I'm going to try half of the jars next time to compare. Trying to see what works best.
