Trouble Shooting This Slower Run - Coir?
    #26615134 - 04/20/20 11:49 AM (3 years, 9 months ago)

Been at this for a few years. This run of several tubs is 7 to 10 days slower.  Out of 16 tubs, there are 5 different master cultures, this is a T3 run ( T1 and T2 true performers), never ever had issue with T3 runs. Shit gone to T4-5 with non-issue.  Last round was spectacular, as the last 18 months.  Been using the same coir for a while, 66qt tubs,6 qt spawn, CVG. Did notice this last 24 bricks of coir was just a bit gritty, maybe 1/4 cup of sandy texture on
Bottom of bucket after hydrating. Never had the grit before. Coir held similar moisture as previous batches. Jars colonized in my usual 7-10 day time frame.

This is the only common denominator I can think of, gritty coir. 100% clean cultures, no contamination at this stage. Just behind schedule. Consistent environment, everything the same. Anyone else stumble on this?.

How did you prep? Bucket I guess?

I have noticed some coir needing to be cooked longer. Coir can be tough to break down raw.

All my sub is PC. Same brand of coir, everything same, except I noticed this batch of coir a bit  of grit.
