When do people become a 'liar'

So i've been thinking about the term liar after reviewing a conversation lately. It got me thinking, when does a person become a liar? How many lies does a person need to tell? What if it was a white lie such as Santa's going to bring children a shit load of toys on the 25th of December? Are there any black lies? #blackliesmatter. What about lies?
To me there seems like there's so many opportunities to lie under so many different circumstances. Under these circumstances you are someone that told a lie.
To be called a liar on the other hand is a whole different ballpark That's an abrasive allegation. Where is the tripping point? Lets face it, we all lie to some to some degree, so when does a person stop 'lying to some degree' and become a liar?

Depends if it’s used as an adjective, verb, or even noun in some ways. All people lie necessarily, but not all people are “boy who cried wolf” liars.
The liar lied about telling a lie while lying down.

What if someone cried wolf once in their entire life. Are they forever branded a liar?

I don’t think so. For that event they were, but if that’s not their norm, or if they haven’t conditioned themselves to casually or mostly lie, then no.
If they have, then yes. But it’s more nuanced than that you dig.
Parents lie to their children out of necessity for much of their development for their own good. It’s a skillful means type of deal in that situation.
Some highschooler that the majority of what comes out of his or her mouth is a lie, can be a liar

Children start lying as early as 3-4 years old. We're all liars, it's just to what degree.
To become an official "liar", one has to continuously get caught lying by many different people. In other words, they have to suck at lying.

So in other words, the definition of a liar is 'one that doesn't tell the truth'. but it should be changed to 'one that doesn't tell the truth in a believable fashion'. This brings up a whole different issue, what shout the "good liars" be called to differentate them from the prior 'liars'? Should we make a name for the benefit of the English language? Or should we exclude it so that the bad 'liars' remain easy to catch out so that we may continue to better society excluding them?

Maybe one that deceives uneccesarily and often. But that doesn’t hold in all situations, neither do so many other claims about it.
I really don’t know, I have a sense of it though. I would Apply the Socratic method to your query and see where it goes!
Distill the untruth out of it until your left with an elixir of truth

Hmm, perhaps i'm jumping to conclusions again. Can you explain 'Socratic method' in more detail please. I don't have the luxury of being particularly well educated.

The Socratic method (also known as method of Elenchus, elenctic method, or Socratic debate), is a form of cooperative argumentative dialogue between individuals, based on asking and answering questions to stimulate critical thinking and to draw out ideas and underlying presuppositions.

A liar is someone who by reasonable measure is defined by their lying.
Its more like being a racist than like being a rapist.
With a racist there should be a pattern or a blatant act, while for a rapist just once will do.

Everyone's a liar always, ever since their first lie. That designation will stick with them forever. It's better to ask whether someone is trustworthy or not than if they are a liar.

A liar is not someone who lies all the time. They are someone who has lied.
Same with thieves, murderers and rapists. But unlike scoundrels, ruffians and delinquents who may change with time.

I think calling someone a liar generally means they're lying right now about a specific thing. Like if someone says something and later you're like "that guy's a liar" you probably mean about that particular thing. Like if you say that you don't enjoy the anus of trent and someone replies with "that guy's a fucking liar" they're referring specifically to your enjoyment of trent anus.
But then again some people lie all the time about everything, and then you might call that person a liar and mean it more broadly. Like if you're constantly claiming that you hate trent anus but you regularly enjoy the anus of trent then trent calling you a liar might be accurate in a broader sense.

Jesus told a bunch of his best buds that he wasn't going to a Jewish party, and then he snuck in when nobody was looking.
