I used pasteurized one block of coir with 2800mL rye berry spawn. The spawn was from a g2g transfer and it was looking promising other than a yellow tinge on the mycelium which seemed to be metabolites. The tub appeared normal at first but as days went on the mycelium began to yellow the same way it did in the jar and now it looks like it's donezo. April 12th

Fuck man. Might be side pins I can’t tell.
But it looks like venoms hiding in your sub.

That is an alien embryo. I'd dump it before it grows up and eats your family.

Yea man, im sorry i dont think youll get any fruits from that. Metabolites would be tiny little yellowish blobs, it would NOT be a uniform tinge to the myc. Healthy myc should always be uniform white, like cotton.
In the future, instead of G2Ging, maybe just innoc the jars with agar, might be easier to identify healthy culture and reduce the likelihood of contamination that way. You could also try using shoeboxes instead of monos. That way if a cpl jars were bad, you dont lose the whole tub. It takes some time to get good at it, youll get there. I just had to toss 15 tubs myself due to nonviable culture lol

Colonized coir should not look like that at all

Should I even bother waiting it out or should it go straight in the trash?

Just trash it man, sorry. I mean I guess you could keep it there to see how it progresses as an experiment, but def start over with a new batch of grain.

Here's a pic of one of the 4 600mL spawn jars I had, I ended up using one of them for g2g as I didint want to risk mixing contams from other jars when spawning bulk. Was originally inoculated with an agar wedge.
(This isn't the jar I used but it looked similar)

Bingo! Thats the issue. Never use anything that looks like that ever again lol. You should only ever see one color. I see at least 3 in that jar.
