I knew a guy back in middle school who had a ferret.... he used to put him in a drawer and close it but for a small gap, packed with a towel, then get him high by blowing weed smoke inside through a piece of Β½" clear tubing.... also fed him LSD, twice that I know of. The ferret always walked strangely, dragging his back legs to the side, almost facing up. Poor thing. Some edibles with thc might be okay, or CBD even medicinally, or some pet owners have xanax prescribed to their animals for stress and anxiety.... but having seen this ferret, and the Cat ON Acid video, I dont think LSD is a good idea, especially for small animals. Anyway, cool ferrets man

I'll never understand what makes somebody think they can give an animal LSD or any other mind-altering substance. Shit's messed up.

Agreed. This guy seemed very careless and thoughtless about it at the time. I never actually saw him do it, but I took his word for it - and the Ferret seemed "off", although the strange-walk was a chronic thing, and I dont know if LSD would actually cause something like that to be permanent

Yeah, that's fucked. Even if the drugs did no damage, who knows what else that kid might have done to it.
An aside, I know exactly the weird twisty walk you're talking about. We had a class ferret in HS that walked like that due to a tumor in its brain. Apparently ferrets are super prone to cancer.

π€·π½ββοΈ My dog has a xanny scrip. If thereβs a thunderstorm coming I pop 2 of his and turn the music up so he doesnβt hear it. Works for both of us π€£
When I was in highschool my cid plug had a ferret. Cool little guy but it would always try to grab your sack out your pocket and take off with it.
I tried to keep one but we just had a baby and the young ferret would go ape shit feral for the baby bottles so my wife made me take it back to the pet store.

Interesting. They are such cool little creatures.... I got my kids a Guinea Pig a while ago. Named him Gilbert G. Pig, and I somehow took to calling him "little baby dog". Might get a ferret sometime, and some birds again. I love birds

They smell about as strongly as dogs do, personally I like the way they smell a lot better, but that's a matter of taste. It's a musky smell, like musk perfume (which is made out of ferret glands)

Ya its not bad. What gets bad though is you constantly have to clean their litter box and every where else they poop cause that gets bad quick. And they are always finding new places to go.

I always wonder what kind of pet a ferret is when I see a ferret video. They seem kind of high energy and very curious types. They look like fun pets. Do they need to be taken out or can you just let them out in the garden for example? What about this cable chewing; has it been a problem?

They sleep around 18 hours a day but when they're up they're very high energy. Usually I just keep them out of their cage in my basement but I have a bunch of shit they've been destroying so I'm making a new room for them. They also need to be litter box trained but they'll still go outside the litter box so they can be messy.
