continuous vet syringe to inoculate spawn bags 1

I use this continuous syringe to inoculate my spawn bags and my new LCs. I have seen other posting similar Teks / pictutes, but wanted to elaborate.
I find it quite convenient and much faster than doing it with a normal syringe. Especially because I don't have to open the source LC, just put the syringe's long needle into the LC once.
I bought it on aliexpress for about 20 euro, by searching for "continuous syringe". Something like this:

I PC it together with the new LCs that I prepare. I make sure that I put some (tap) water into the tubes, to improve sterilization.

I had to tweak it because it was getting stucked / stuffed with the mycelium from the LC. So I remove the plastic valve and spring (shown at the top of the picture) from the syringe intake. It has 1 drawback and 2 benefits. Drawback: pushes liquid back into the LC when you activate the syringe. Benefit: it stirs the LC solution because of that, and benefit #2, the mycelium does not get stuck anymore.

Note that I don't have a filter on my LC, so basically it's sucking fresh air while I inject the liquid. But so far so good...
What do you think?

.....this is fucking awesome...
How long have you been using this for?
And also, I'm surprised you don't have contam issues with the LC backwash (knock on wood)

Damn this is pretty sweet. Are you pushing it through a SHIP on the lc jar you are pulling from?

I've done lots of bags using one of these. I did add a filter to the lid though. Problem is the myc can clog the one way ball valve.

I have inoculated two dozen spawn bags and almost all of them turned good. I have cased 8 of them so far. This is the first one that has started to fruit:

To be honest, I feel safer with this syringe than with transfering agar into bags (was a mess in my SAB) or using a normal syringe to inoculate bags (messy too, because I have to go back and forth from my LC jar...)

I'm quite new to this to be honest, but have experience with microbiology from my work. As said above, I have two dozen spawn bags and now 8 trays fruiting, without sign of contams (know on wood my friend!)
Regarding the LC backwash: I have my doubts too, but where would the contam come from, if you think of it? I flame my needle before entering my grain bags, and theses are coming out of my PC, so they are sterile. What do you think?

You're right, I should add a filter. At the same time, I don't use my LCs more than once

That's why I tweaked my syringe. I removed the one way ball valve, so that it does not clog. And even without the valve, it works to push the liquid out. Try it on your syringe, maybe.

That it is, wolf. Thanks fur noticing.
Op, I'd rather not go without the one way in the end. I've had plenty of fails due to unexpected vectors using LC. I did, however, learn that as long as I cleared it by squirting a tad out every other day (only after initial use), I could afford clogs and use it over and over.

I've been looking for a larger syringe anyway, 10cc vendor syringes can get a little tedious with lc. Maybe I should just jump to this. Thanks for posting Crac
Verm, is that a gwlc? If so how much do you dilute your grain soak water? Do you go by a ratio or just eyeball it by color?

No. I use malt extract at 1%.
I'd rather eat a pile of rancid noni than fiddle around with 10cc LC syringes. Just pour that shiz.

😂😂😂
I stick with the syringes for now because my sterile tek isn't 100% yet. I drain my lc into a bunch of syringes, use one and wait to see if it goes well before using the rest.

Not the worst plan of attach. But, in case you don't know, it's entirely possible for one or two to work wonderfully and the rest grow nothing but shit. If you plan on continuing this practice, I'd highly recommend getting some bigger syringes. 1 60cc is way way better and safer than 6 10cc... In opinion

Any suggestion where I might find a needle that big? I can only find little needles or big ones with catheter tips.
Should I just dive in and buy a continuous syringe?
Edit: would I be alright buying this you think?

I'd call the company and or do some research online to verify that it's fully autoclavable. The socorex is.

I suppose you mean "where I can find a syringe that big".
https://www.amazon.com/60ml-Sterile-Syringe-Only-Luer/dp/B07JZXSDVF/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=60cc+luer+lock&qid=1587319599&sr=8-3
Amazon has them. If putting shit like that on a card sketches you out, they can also be had at most feed stores. Pretty much anywhere you'd find hillbillies buying chicken scratch, hog feed and carharts will have them. Sometimes you have to ask for access because they are locked up due to tweakers being tweakers.
