Slants: will these work? * 1
    #26612544 - 04/19/20 09:32 AM (3 years, 9 months ago)

I just got these off Amazon, they are made of plastic. Will these work to make slants? I might have gotten them a little bit too big

What plastic are they made of? Unless it's PP5, you won't be able to sterilize them.

I can't find anywhere what kind of plastic they are made of. I guess I'll just try to PC them and see if they melt

I'm quite sure they're some kind of PE and won't work.

They work perfectly fine, they are designed to be autoclaved.
I use them for storing my cultures.

Ok, they must make them from different materials for different applications, when I got mine I ordered the PP with autoclavable lids.

Hello there,
I'm back after trying them and they did warp. The cap still screws on, so I'll use them for the time being, but I'll have to get new ones. I know that some are made of autoclavable plastic since a friend told me he used to autoclave them all the time in the lab where he worked. Apparently mine are not :/
