Ok this is crazy.... Research gate professors all agree on face down. However,
With that being said. I could have sworn that I read RR said to leave it upside down... Im so wrong though because:

In addition, mycelium grows best on the top(away from gravity) surface of a flat plane, and when forced to grow upside down, growth and performance is slower. Since the whole point of isolation on agar is to encourage the fastest growth possible, it should be done in actual Petri dishes that are stored right-side-up for best results. RR

I guess its not as straightforward as it sounds. But RR argue that they store it upside down because for them they don't store petri long term. So for us that do it should be right side up...

This is what I was elaborating on, storing them upside doesn't have any visible effect. I turn mine upside down and place on a heat source in attempts to remove condensation so I can examine the contents, however otherwise they are right side up.

I store them upside down since I read on research gate that the pooling water may introduce contams and in my (very very) brief experience it hasnt been detrimental. But I really shouldnt debate the subject since Im not at that level.

Machiavelliavore said: If there are a lot of clumps you have have effectively reduced the nutritional content of your agar to some degree, but at 2% brf that will be no issue. Also, I personally find I get less clumping when I add hot water to my agar jar first, then whisk in the dry ingredients, as opposed to lots of clumping when putting dry ingredients and putting agar on top.
I thought that might be the case, at least the mycelium will have to work a bit harder to find food so maybe it'll be easier to spot a good place to transfer from? I'll try your way of mixing the ingredients next time, thanks.
