Spore prints from potential poor genetics?
    #26607250 - 04/17/20 05:25 AM (3 years, 9 months ago)

My monotub has produced very small cubes (golden teacher) byt they're solid as rocks. My sub depth is 3.5 inches but my sub may be slightly over field capacity which may be the reason my I've got small mature fruits. Its nowhere near stopping wet but just slighty more than field capacity. What I also want to know is if it is poor genetics can I take prints and would those spores carry similar poor genetics ? I wouldnt want to bother printing some if that's the case. In hoping for the second flush the sub dries out a bit and I get some larger ones.

Spores are a reset for genetics for the most part.

So print them and germinate away, but be aware small fruits can be caused by many things besides genetics. :cookiemonster:

Okay that's good to know.

That's more of a general cult question.  You want to repost this there.

I had tubs and tubs of smaller fruits barely ever got over 10-14 grams wet for a single fruit and most of the time they were a lot smaller than that. I did a clone with agar using the largest of my small fruits and I think simply using clean spawn fixed my problems, first grow after I got a 45 gram mushroom from a shoebox.
Basically I’m saying you could have bacterial spawn. The tell tale for me was it always pinned really fast like within 7 days and it wasn’t 100 percent colonizes when it did.

That's exactly what's happened. I had pins within 7 days and it wasnt totally colonised. I've taken prints but on the second flush I'll take a clone of the largest and see what happens. Thanks for that info
