Hey eat, are you doing 1 flush and done? How many times are you refusing tubs, and are you cleaning them between uses?
If multiple flushes are you just doing soap and water, or bleach?
I been switching over to unmodified tubs and dialing the room in rather than the tub, only using liners on then modified ones. Really digging the clear lids for lighting
Just curious about your workflow

Well last batch of 10 tubs I let go 5 flushes. No contams either. I was taking a little break. Now I’m back with this viruscation. Fuck unmodded tubs when you stack them. Nightmare.🤦🏻♂️ Tried it once and ended up knocking over and breaking 3 subs.
I also don’t boil coir. Takes about 10 -30 mins to expand. Then I spawn my coir right after. My spawn prep and sessions are done in less than an hour. Not much wait time for non boiled water to cool. In addition the non boiled coir colonized faster and fruits two days faster with tested clones.
I don’t wanna do any dialing in. I just let it do it’s thing. Then harvest. The trash bag Liner is for clean up. When sub is done, I flip it up over the sub and dump my trash in it.
Between clean up I spray the tub with wAter from a shower head, dump it then let it dry. I don’t use any soap. I also don’t wipe it with iso anymore as I’m saving iso. So put simply, I rinse the tub with tap water.
My situation isn’t ideal. I got a small 6500 bulb at the top of a small closet with two 5 stacks. I can’t wire real lights into this closet. I added two usb rechargeable led 6500k lights in the center of the two stacks. If I kee a rotation going, I do two flushes and done. I don’t have the time for more than that.

Magnet mount with double sided tape.

Stack

For this small setup yield is decent in two flushes. It’s tough but manageable with a full time life schedule.

Thanks for explaining all that!
Damn 5 flushes outta 10 tubs w no conam? That's insane. I've gotten 5 flushes without contam occasionally, but damn sure not 10 at a time. Mine usually start to turn green after 3red flush, sometimes 2and
You sold me on unbucket, I been digging it since I started. I use shelves so no stacking issues for me. You fruit st spawn right?
When I use liners I usually just use 1 layer and tape em, how are you still using it for a trash bag after the sub is spent?

I used an aquarium air pump fed into my chamber after spawning and before fruiting on for an hour every 6 hours. Once coir was fully colonized I sprayed a lot and skewed the lid to get a lot of evaporation because pins took forever haha

nice cycle of work man , respect
it's funny to me how at first you wanna get all kinds of stuff to grow your shrooms , then slowly realizing you just need organization to develop a good culture , clean spawn and maintaining condition which is mainly leaving them the fuck alone , i mean , i see your amazing results and basic setup and re enforce my thought of simplicity.

Yeah that amazon plate is from a batch of transfers I did as soon as the plates cooled and then they all went bad and grew bacteria polka dots. Check the little rings that seal the lid on those 3 for 15 media bottles lol.
I use like 7-8g agar and 5-7g lme to 450ml for the most part.
That was a t1 from the germ plate which had a patch of crazy rhizo I took a tiny piece of, hopefully it’ll grow like that again.
Also fuck these sfd I have. 8 days in and 5 jars have green for the first time ever. First I thought it was my culture or SAB mistake but as I checked my spawn and separated the bad jars I noticed all the good ones were tyvek and the bad sfd.
Maybe I’ll put mp tape over the lid hole then add the sfd. Or maybe stick to free tyvek.
Some pretty gt and massive 3rd or 4th flush pe6 with the biggest pin I’ve ever seen.

SFDs are not a fail safe, in fact the worst bout of contamination I ever experienced is because of siliconed SFDs and I refused to believe it so I spent a year trying to nail down the source until the filters were the only thing left.
Switched to this method and havent had any issues since https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/26498354/page/2

Space is of the essence when you have none. I don’t have space for shelves or anything like that to spread a one tub stack on shelves. Idea is to pack as many tubs in as possible to maximize your space and footprint. As seen in society in big cities floor area ratio(FAR) is a real thing. going up is the best option. If I have 3 tubs stacked unmoded and move one the wrong way, they all come tumbling down. In a tight space like a small closet. Stacking is the only way and it’s tight quarters so being able to stack is necessary if any maintenance between flush harvesting or rehydrating is necessary.
Click eat gets shit done on my spawn method and there is a write up showing the liner trick. But basically, you don’t open the trash bag. You unfold it so that the sub lays on one side of the bag(outside of bag). Post flush, you grab four corners of the bag at the top. Pull it together and hold with one hand, while doing this, the opening is usually on the short side of the tub, you pull the opening side from the bottom and the bag flips inside out over the top of sub. Then dump or throw more trash in and toss. It details this in the spawn write up.
I hate cutting liners. If you go big I understand the argument for black plastic cost per liner. But the time I’d spend cutting liners is time I have extra not doing so. Unless you are doing 50 plus tubs it wouldn’t be a factor. I also understand process, timing, workflow and what it takes. For some more yield per tub doesn’t matter if it takes twice as long to harvest because in the end you do more work. It’s my same argument for liner cutting. Personally I never will cut liners again. I tried it once and it was time consuming on the bulk scale. But does purchasing trash bags for a higher price outweigh the cost savings and time it takes to cut your own liners. Vise Versa with harvesting. Easy harvest less yield time constraints. It’s all about options and your situation.
I prefer 7-8oz dry per flush each flush on the scale I have. But the canopies can be so dense it takes 30 minutes plus to harvest each tub. Or you can have less yield, easy harvest and more tubs. Certain varieties characteristics suit certain situations. For example, this whyte gold pulls some weight but damn takes 45 minutes to harvest. Image harvesting 10 plus tubs of that. It’s al perspective to situation, timing, process.
I top layer at spawn yes. It’s faster than applying a casing after full colonization. Some varieties like the casing or top layer applied later. Which is fine, but I like doing things in batches because I have one hell of a Schedule so time is of the essence.
Last set I had several going which none contaminated, and people may tell you otherwise but I flooded tubs, dunked with fruit present and still no contams. Golden halo, whyte gold, rustywhyte, monster bones, stropharia, texoc. I did have one texyc contam prior to first flush and I blame technique from spawning. But that was two runs ago. When I say run, I mean my cycle. 10 tubs on rotation. Pull close to 2lb dry per 3 tubs in two flushes. So it’s a decent rotation. I sacrifice yield for experimentation often, it keeps my mind busy. But I’m converting to Rainbow military style growing soon. All one clone that performs well.
Also here is a trick and you owe me one million dollars for this.

Don’t tape your liner. Get your hand wet from the sink, swipe the side of the tub and the liner sticks to it. Do this right before you dump the sub in and it’s like glue. Boom done. Then fold back liner if needed.
