That's good I'm glad to hear that. I have a question for you do you know about a r d s type h and Type L and whether that's important on who to intubate. There's a strong practicing Theory that shows many doctors are confused but when to intubate specifically because some patients will be at an extremely low saturation that requires intubation normally and by identifying type h and type l characteristics within that ards symptoms doctors are saying this may save over 50% of the people they intubate and cut down 9n the need for intubation if they have a saturation of say 80-70 should you intubate no questions asked to say lives the way we know how or test people case by case?

I hope you had it -- so you have antibodies. Too much of an asset to get sick.

Seriously_trippin said: In other news michigan has a state of Some tards protesting saying that they're on unemployment for the first time unwilling so everything should open up. They're waving Trump flags and signs saying "all jobs are essential". So is 2/3rds of the rest of the country everyone is hurting right now but that's the sacrifice we MUST make united as a country to save lives and preserve the future of our children and grandchildren. Boo fucking hoo you can't go to the hairdresser as one woman explained was one of the reasons she was protesting.
Literally someone said "if your sick stay at home but if not we need to go to work" except that's not how this virus works with people being asymptomatic. I get it, financial ruin is scary sand very hard but it's better then killing people and you yourself dying. Not to say in a few months we can't ease back in but now in Michigan the hospital workers are going on Facebook and ripping a new asshole on these people because they are BLOCKING the hospital entrance with theirdumbass car gridlock. This dramatically sets back an already taxed healthcare system and has brought dreads of getting infected to an all time high it really makes me mad to see that level of blatant disregard for human life, science or common sense literally masquerading with "pro common sense signs"
I'm sure the liberal media (which is basically everyone except Fox News) is really pushing the coverage of these Michigan protests so they can fill the insatiable hunger of the far left who are endlessly craving their Trump and Trump base hate fix, but it's not just backwoods Trump supporters who want things reopened.
Las Vegas Mayor, Carolyn Goodman, a democrat, is calling the shutdown "total insanity" and added this:
Quote:
"Every day you get up it’s a gamble," Goodman said. "Are you going to make it back home? All our people in law enforcement, do they know if they’re coming home? All our people in fire and rescue, do they know if they’re coming home? Do you know you won’t be hit by a car? Do you know that your elevator in which you’re riding won’t crash to the ground? You don’t know. It’s part of life!"
"In my opinion you have to go ahead. It’s a terrible, terrible thing we’re under because of the people we lose! We don’t want to lose anybody, but it’s part of life. And so I want people back to work."
"Right now we have less than one half of one percent in fatalities. Any loss of life is tragic, but the reality is less than one half of one percent. We are going to take 3.3 million people and cut them off from earning a living?"
"So many viruses have spread through humanity and we should learn from that. This is the first time we’ve ever shut down. The very first time in history that we’ve ever shut down."
"The professionals and the physicians and the researchers can’t tell you that this isn’t going to last forever. They can’t tell you if it’s going to slow down in a month or four months or four years or reoccur. So do we stop living our lives because we have a challenge?"

Point being, it's not only rural Trump supporters who are desperately itching to get back to work.

Anything is possible. And only time will tell.
But I get the feeling that some people out there hear the word "reopen", and think the floodgates are just going to open and everything will go back to normal like it was.
When they reopen, whenever that is, there are going to be very strict rules & regulations in place. Example -- restaurants will cut their number of tables in half. Airlines will no longer (for the time being) be able to fill the capacity, because social distancing is sticking around for a while, folks. I'm here in Dallas and they're on the verge of slowly reopening, and a week from now retail stores will be able to open again. The caveat is, customers won't be able to shop inside. It's only buy online or by phone and then pick up curbside.
When the reopening starts to take place, it will be very slowly and carefully. That doesn't mean it will work mind you -- but it's not going to be some free for all back to the way things used to be.

It’s just an assumption that those you have survived it are even temporarily immune. Likely but not certain. It’s also unknown if surviving the first wave of symptoms means you’re finished with it. It may cause permanent neurological degeneration that unfolds slowly over years.

If we get off as easy as the 1918 Flu we will be lucky as fuck. That shit was (is) seasonal. This shit could be bouncing around full force for decades.

to be honest i read the protocols youre talking about and they were too complicated for me to digest. In the covid19 disease management thread i linked to the basic information related to ventilation. What you are talking about is based on changing assumptions about the primary cause of respiratory distress. In other words some patients sat low because of effects on hemoglobin and do not need intubation. Other patients sat low primarily because of pulmonary problems. They do need intubation but will often die anyway bc the virus is simultaneously damaging blood. They use measurements like lung compliance and total lung water to determine this. I am unfamiliar with these values. I can tell you that that information has now been widely disseminated and i believe it is partially responsible for decreased ventilator use but i am uncertain
Obv people cant take photos on the unit but i found a video with a photo of what the blood looks like with the free iron. About 7 minutes in
That is a super extreme example but you get the picture.

Most of these antibody tests developed so far are pretty useless in my opinion. This is why the FDA is having trouble approving them. They don’t distinguish between covid and the common cold coronaviruses
$195 to find out of you’ve had covid or a cold 🤦♂️

its not an antibody test it is judt a regular rapid test for covid19. Results in 5 min but they dont tell you till the next day. It is pointless because i have no symptoms and my only known exposure is ages ago but whatever, its there. If by some fluke i come up positive i can get paid to chill at home until i test negative It is the self swab one so no pain

The antibody test is the rapid test. The only other tests being run (to my knowledge) are PCR-based and PCR is not completed in 5 mins.

I get that, most of the people in my life lost their jobs too and want to get back to work badly but #1 they know that this is a sacrifice for the country and for ourselves #2 there's going to be no getting back to work if another wave hits us right now. I didn't listen to any commentator I actually watched the fox coverage and it sickened me . Doctors aren't able to get to the hospital during the most critical and stressful time in any medical profession they're being blocked by protesters which are in big groups with no masks. How is that okay? About 45 states are making monumental sacrifices and don't want to do it for another wave and another wave.
Also like I was saying there is a time and place and a method that we can get back to work but right now we don't have the testing parameters that we need to reopen. If we can just get that in place before we start protesting with no masks like it's not real makes me feel like our sacrifices can be undermined by people not willing to make the same sacrifice for the country or even the people in their states.
At the least can we agree the way their protesting is wrong?

Im confused.... they are not advertising it as an antibody test. It would be better if it were but i specifically asked on the phone and they said it was a test for active covid19 infection. But the antibodies dont develop for like 8 or 9 days i thought.
Im not saying youre lying but can you link something about how the rapid tests are for antibodies?
If thats the case i wont get off work huh
