Spore prints from possible poor genetics? 1

My monotub has produced very small cubes (golden teacher) byt they're solid as rocks. My sub depth is 3.5 inches but my sub may be slightly over field capacity which may be the reason my I've got small mature fruits. Its nowhere near stopping wet but just slighty more than field capacity. What I also want to know is if it is poor genetics can I take prints and would those spores carry similar poor genetics ? I wouldnt want to bother printing some if that's the case. In hoping for the second flush the sub dries out a bit and I get some larger ones.

How did you make this? Did you spore print to agar? Then likely you just isolated short fruits. If it is MultiSpore or a crumbled cake. Yeah it's hard to say. I have heard overly wet subs can cause this, I haven't seen it myself.
But to answer the last question. If you print these your kinda resetting the genetics because the prints will have millions of spores that will have all sorts of genetic variables.
So yes taking prints is fine.
Also I want to add, that is a damn sexy pinset. Short or not, looks like they are still growing and might get bigger.

Totally agree. "Size matters not padawan!" Be patient! Smaller fruits often result in more flushes.

It was made from a ms syringe to grains. I am thinking and hoping it's just from the sub being a little wet. Hoping the next flush will be better.
With regards to the spores that's what I'm wanting to know if I can start a fresh with spores and it not carry over the characteristics being small. Like you say its resetting the genetics.
Yeah the pin set is amazing tbh, I have a 6500k fluro over the tub so I'm thinking that has helped. Just a shane they're small haha

Yeah spores to grain is super risky.
Nice flush for that!
Yes a print will carry all of the genetic material and not act like cloneing will.
Even when we use agar and clean up a spore streak, you really don't know what your isolating down to until it flushes. I guess my that definition everything is MS until you get a flush and clone the mushrooms.

It seems like most genetics go smaller over time for some reason.
Gt can get huge but I’ve grown a ton and had a couple 35g wet ones as the biggest.
As for prints I took spores from this guy and got this tub from them.

My golden teacher tubs have been doing the same thing. I was going MS>Grain. I know this is risky but I've had great success with it. But this last batch of Teacher were poor. Curious if we used the same vendor.

Are you in the UK by any chance? If so the company I got them from is from the north...
