about twice as many people were wearing masks in public spaces as compared to a week ago in Nc (triangle), so that’s a plus.

That’s not possible. Index futures trading has an up limit of 8%

Kind of, but not really. They told employees to expect layoffs after the bailout period. On the other hand, 20,000 employees are already on voluntary unpaid leave.

I still can't get past the freaking tiger at the Bronx Zoo getting a test.

There are more tigers in captivity in the U.S. than in the wild worldwide. IDK, I read that that, haven't verified it.
But this is what I really wanted to say. My favorite singer Neko Case has an album called The Tigers Have Spoken. At one point she does this little monologue about how experts have said that captive tigers can't be released back into the wild because their habitat can not support them. She responded, "But we have so many extra children".

They need to stop vindicating every fucking thing i have said day after day or I am gonna get a nostradamus complex if i get bored i am going to specifically go back and find the post where i suggested cfr might be lower in houston because we have been using remdesivir since case #1

https://reason.com/2020/04/09/preliminary-german-study-shows-a-covid-19-infection-fatality-rate-of-about-0-4-percent/
German study reveals possible cfr of 0.4%. The original south korean study indicated 0.6%
I wonder if this is representative of everyone or if frequent consumption of fermented foods plays a role in reduced mortality in those countries.
In any case i stand by my doubt that cfr will prove to be more than 1% whem all is said and done in the usa

Yup.
The governor is expected to veto it, and there's no chance in hell they'll be able to get a 2/3 majority to override his veto. This is very much a vote along party lines.

so RE: this guy wearing an n95. I had 2 of these in my shed from working with insulation, spray painting, working in the yard during peak pollen season etc. Should I feel bad that I cleaned them and use them now? It’s not like a health care worker would want a used mask, right? They’re rusty where the staples are connected to the fabric. Should I donate them instead?

I think it's just the image of some politician who's voting to put more people at risk is rocking one while many of those actually on the ground saving lives in the community he represents (who would be directly harmed by his vote) don't even have access to them.
I've heard they judge the usability of the masks by whether or not the strap is still intact, some hospitals had volunteers fitting on new straps. You could always post it on your local reddit or facebook page, I've heard of that being really helpful for nurses and group home workers around here to get some. Nothing wrong IMO though with keeping it for yourself, it's not like you're sitting on a case of them or something.

I’m getting skeptical of these antibody tests. They all seem to be plagued with a lot of false positives due to cross reactivity with antibodies to common cold viruses.
