That phenotype looks way cooler than my short and stubby meaty ones.
Nice find man.

I love some of the different looks. There are some that look so different than mine that I would be nervous picking them.

I see a lot of Maryland people in here. Has anyone found them in southern Anne arundel / Calvert county. I didn’t realize the season for them was so quick. I figured I’d have plenty of time to go traipsing around.

Got out for a lil today at an early spot. Still lots of small cold temp fruits. Still lots of pins coming up too. Good luck out there everyone!

They’re fine with a light frost. If they freeze they will turn to mush

How tall or big do yours get? The ones i've found in the past only get 3" tall then spread there caps out.

The stems can get pretty long with that variety, depending on what they're growing out of. I've seen stems up to 6" on specimens that come up in tall Celandine or grass. Sometimes they can work themselves around the bottom of a log or around leaf litter and get long stems in the process. The sizes this early in the season can vary quite a bit tho, so pics can be a lil deceiving. Sometimes they're only 1-2" and other times it's more like 5". The other variety (probably like what you find) can get up to 4-5" as well if they're growing in Celandine or something like that.
Here's an example from something yrs ago (32oz bottle)

I’m stamping my feet over these fungi finds and their pics. Beeautifulll. Weather in capital NC in quite a flux the last couple of days, but some of the parks here have been fruitful before they were included in the lock down.

I'm on the susquehanna river in Pennsylvania. These are still small compared to what they will get. Some here get caps almost as big a half dollar or slightly larger. Those show up in mulch more than the wild though. Something about the mulch here really makes them big but takes longer to pop.
