It's a waste of resources to find out where the virus came from. Especially since it's so obvious that it came from a wet market and it wouldn't be the first virus to come from one of these places. When you combine many many species of WILD caught living and dead animals, cut them up, mix the blood and body parts, don't clean properly, and finally having people and their shoes touch this stuff and remove it then you're going to get a virus.
Wet Markets need to be banned, or cleaned up and forced to only sell common animals. We should actually take it a step further and have a worldwide government agency just for things like this, like a worldwide FDA. After Covid starting making the rounds the Chinese government had to ban people from farming rats, for obvious reasons, so they do know that these Wet Markets are wrong. They/We need to stop it.
With over 150,000 people dead and with many more to follow I think we should be putting all resources into fighting the virus. If you want to put 3 or 4 people on finding out where it came from then that's fine, or if it would help for medical reasons then that would be great too. This virus was obviously not released as biological warfare, and most likely not even as terrorism. To call out a country and say their government released it from their lab does no good. It just alienates a huge country that we now need more than ever. With this virus spreading, if China say's "Fuck You America," and cuts us off completely then we are in for really big trouble.
What good does it do to call out China?

Wait is bodhi actually trying to argue with me about this why??? Like even if happened to be right which you couldnt possibly know, what did you have to gain from trying to argue with me about this? You just want to be contrarian...? Just bored in quaratine? In any case it is a weird flex
I found that in a EDnursing group on facebook. The responses are a mixed bag with probably 80% of people saying it is a scam and 20% of people saying it is not.

Ill admit i dont know for certain it is a scam but these people have no incentive to be lying that i can think of. Maybe it is just "a few disguruntled nurses" but i hardly think you are in any better of a position to know so the fact that you are trying to argue about it is a little odd

Looks like Vegas done had enough and needs them slot machines up and running again
Quote:
Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman called the closing of nonessential businesses in Nevada "total insanity" during a city council meeting on Wednesday, and pushed for state officials to speed up the recovery process before it's too late.
"This shutdown has become one of total insanity in my opinion," she said. "For there is no backup of data as to why we are shut down from the start. No plan in place, how to move through the shutdown or how even to come out of it."
"Our entire tourism and convention industry business has been shut down. It makes no sense. It makes no sense," she continued. "From my perspective, we must open our city. We must open Southern Nevada, and we must open the state of Nevada."
Goodman claimed people are capable of abiding by strict sanitary standards and should be allowed to return to work so they can begin rebuilding their lives.
"We cannot keep our heads in the sand, and think it's going to go away. We're adults with brains who can know what to do, to wash our hands, to take all precautions not to spread this disease," she explained.
"The longer we wait to do this, the more impossible it will become to recover and return to the home we all know and love," she added.

Seriously though I totally understand. I've been one of the lucky ones I guess because I still got a job. There's only so long people are going to want to wait. This transcends stupid ass politics and race and gender and all that shit. There's a whole lot of people out there who live check to check and are in dire straits right now. Even if ill advised, people are desperate and of course they want to get back to work so they can start making money again.

all these martial law libertarian conspiracy theorists are about to either feel really dumb or come up with something even more bizarre when they reopen the country and shit goes back to normal except people are more mindful about hygiene
theyre almost definitely gonna shift focus to the contact tracing stuff

I applied for a job doing phone based contact tracing. They had me send my resume straight to the illuminati.
Hopsitals are pretty fucked when all of this ends. Ive heard stories that some are already having layoffs and even cutting wages because they stopped doing all their money making procedures to focus on COVID

honestly though it's temporary. as soon as shit opens up there will be a surge of elective surgeries and stuff and demand for labor will come back

every time there's a national crisis we lose freedoms and don't get anything in return. it's an illusion of safety and i don't trust them either, they don't care about us more than keeping us complacent enough to do what they say. the virus is never going away the entire world has it now. don't think things will ever be normal again they don't have to call it marshall law

I wouldn't say it's "total insanity." Shutting everything down makes perfect sense and I think most people are fine with it, or at least understand the need.
I think the problem is the lack of leadership and failure of the stimulus plan. Our lack of government is making people scared. We should have a plan of testing people that sick and well to see who can go out. Maybe scanning ID"s every where you go in case a breakout occurs then we can see who may be infected. We should have some kind of food program where you call a number and the government drops off some rice or peanut butter or milk or whatever basic supplies. We should have a hold on all mortgage and rent payments.
Right now people should not be scared of loosing their home, having the lights turned out, or struggling to get food. Instead of giving us confidence they just send out $1200 and tell us how great they are doing.
We had protocols for this type of event, but Trump fired the people who knew about it and failed to enact it. There was a VERY late response where almost nothing was done to stop the spread. There are hospitals without the equipment and manpower they need. There are not nearly enough test kits being made and no incentive or push to make more. There is no plan and there hasn't been a plan yet. People want to work, but they don't want to risk their life for their non-essential job and they shouldn't have to make that choice.
We need a plan. We need a lead, but instead we have a child. Did you guys see how he was acting when he played his propaganda video at the briefing 3 days ago? He was literally acting like a middle school student and he was super embarrassing.
