I have a question regarding genetics.
I know that we have options, we can take a spore print or clone.
Having done both now I'm curious. Does anyone have an estimate as to how much the genetics might be narrowed down in a clone as compared to taking a transfer from an ms plate?
I'm thinking Fermi estimate, nothing too precise.

Ha, huge cap Gizmo1! Do u happen to remember making a spore syringe or using agar with that print in the jar? Was it cleaner than usual?
Just had an idea. I am goinf to buy some of those small round clear sticky stoppers used for cabinets and stick them to the underside of the metal washer. This will make a non-slip material for the washer so it doesnt slide around on the glass.
Currently, I see a tiny amount of printing going on but not much. Perhaps its too air-tight for the shroom cap. I think i remember reading that shroom caps need FAE to "activate" spore release but not totally sure.....

You know LC I don't really remember of they were any cleaner than usual I want to say they aren't because besides having to sterilize the jar it's basically the same thing as printing on foil. That particular print I never used I still have it in the closet the print is old as hell the pic I just took lmao. I remember using a coffee filter over the top of the jars while printing. I don't remember if I used the lid also though it's been a good amount of time since I've done any printing in a jar.

Are you talking about my mushies? What should I do if they don't grow? Is it a bad sign? Should I dry them now?

I'm going to try a little of this in the substrate to see if it's beneficial bacteria, what do you think will happen?

I have a question re dehydrating:
I'm playing it safe by never leaving my dehydrator on at night or when no one is home. Thus I often need two days to dehydrate my harvests, especially the bigger fruits.
Would it be OK to store the semi-dry shrooms in an air tight jar while I'm sleeping/at work? Thinking about doing it because it would minimize oxygen exposure, but I don't know if it will be worth it. Will they get mouldy or redistribute moisture so the almost-dry ones will be less dry when I take them out again?

Just leave them on the rack. don't put them half dry in a jar (no need). I have to split our meager available electric with my wife's needs and someetimes I have to leave mine half dry in racks for 12 hrs or more. Potency not affected as far as I can tell.

I think (and pretty sure) that they will be ok

I think that would be fine. I would throw a few of those moisture packets in there.
