How to dunk with liners?

Hey guys. I used liners for my recent go around because this B+ loves to side/underpin. Was driving me nuts. After the first flush, the substrate shrank a lot and I’m worried I really screwed up by not asking y’all first. I looked on the site for a while and couldn’t find any info about how to rehydrate monotubs with liners. I poured about 8oz of water on each substrate after harvesting and it’s been days since with dozens of spongy aborts. I flipped my lids (tubs have about 16 drilled small side holes) to get more FAE after pouring the water, but the substrate still seems dry and my stumps are still saturated with water.
How should I rehydrate the substrate with liners? Should I remove the liner and do a proper dunk like I usually do? Should I post pics? Please feel free to ask me questions if I didn’t explain anything sufficiently. Also worth noting, with the liners I got a massive first flush that was at least 4-5x bigger (fruiting size and volume-wise) than any other I’ve done this past year.
Ayee please and thank you for your help, guys.

I do it all the time. Look up tribal dunk. Just push the liner to the side and pour water between the liner and the sub. I usually just float the sub for an hour. You don’t even have to submerge the top. Then pour off the water.
You can also simply mist. I’ve also even flooded the top layer with water. All of these methods work.

Thanks very much. I think I was stressed and couldn’t find some common sense. Idk, maybe we’re all a little stressed. Stay safe and well!

Had the same issue recently. Still trying to get my re-hydrating tek down pat. I grow in seedling trays with a garbage bag liner. Trays are inside a grow tent with ultra-sonic for humidity and vortex fans on a timer for FAE. Ultrasonic is controlled by a humidistat and holds 94-96% RH consistently and the fans run for 10 minutes, 4 times per day. 4" exhaust from the tent, 6" intake to the lab to maintain positive pressure in the room. Fans have remote speed controllers to dial in building pressure.
I get the same problem with soggy aborts all over the second flush. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread for suggestions. I'll get some pics when I see the problem again. I dunk overnight and drain in the morning. Sometimes water pours out, sometimes it doesn't. Perhaps I need to let them colonise for a few more days do get a denser mycelium.
I currently incubate trays for 9-10 days. I use 3.5 qts of coir/verm/gyp mixed with 2 quarts of popcorn spawn.
