Yes... I dared to eat one cap. Very bitter. No reaction. I think I need ten!

Wowzers. See if any of the pins are bruising bluish green. Normally they'll be more bruising present in the pins than the fully grown ones.
Should give you an idea if they're active or not. I think I read something about inactive junonius.

You got that already, but I'll give you one more; yes, junionus or closely related. Don't eat them. Dry them and make tea. And go for the smaller, immature specimens. Have a nice trip! (if they're active, that is 😀)

Dehydrators work great - I imagine you can't exactly go out an buy one right now... bummer. I also assume your weather isn't warm and breezy like it is here in CA. Hopefully others will chime in here. What a haul!

Get a dehydrator, you could slice them into small peices and dry them using a fan and wire mesh

Get a paper bag, cut a hole in one corner at the bottom, place mushrooms inside, place fan blowing into bag where the hole cut allows air to flow through, and if desired put a heater blowing heat into the fan from behind or into the path of the fan....
Cheap easy dehydrator... Just toss the bushels around every once and a while. It will take a day or two, but they'll dry.
