ID Request - Found in Illinois
    #26603167 - 04/15/20 02:31 PM (3 years, 9 months ago)

I found these while picking a spot to bury my substrate (cubensis grow) that got contaminated with cobweb mold. They are growing in mulch at the base of a birch tree log. The mushroom in the second two pictures is 2 inches in length, and gills are adnexed to stem. I'm waiting on spore prints right now. I am a novice grower with little identification practice.

Follow up question: I figure since other mushrooms are growing in that spot, it'd be a good place to bury my contam'd substrate. Good or Bad idea? Would existing myc compete with what I try to bury there?

Thanks.
