For me (new to agar) it goes on its own after a while. I'm doing no-pours and leave them overnight before use as it seems to help. Although, once noc'd they've seemed to re-condensate but I account that to the myc breathing. Nevertheless, sorry for the less than helpful comment I'm sure someone will pitch in with some better advice than just wait.

Yeah I'm new to agar too. I poured at 120f and by the last plate it started to gel so I dont know why I've got so much on the sides of the plates. Bit a of pain when you see other people have clear plates haha. I was hoping the flow hood would help.
Thanks for your input though man

Just ignore the condensation.
Its just annoying, it wont cause problems

Eventually it will go away but it can pool on the agar itself, so you want to watch for that as well. If everything is clean in a plate it’s not a big deal but if you’re trying to clean something up and you accidentally tilt a plate the wrong way the water can spread bad shit all around before you have a chance at snatching a clean edge somewhere.

Sorry OP for he hijack, but damn Chef, this must have been what's happened to me. I had 10 1/4 pint jars as no pours and noc'd two of them with a very old ms syringe of golden teachers I found laying about, didn't germinate. The rest with a new albino A+ ms syringe and 7 out of 8 germinated, however, I noticed a large amount of liquid on a few of the plates and couldn't work out why as I used less than one cc of the syringe to noc them all. Yesterday I had 10 new plates in taller plastic filtered containers which I intended to noc' with the other plates but immediately after transferring the agar noticed small green areas of the wedges which weren't there before (I assumed not clean enough technique transferring) but on some of the plates the green is no longer there? I'm 90% sure they all need throwing away but I still have them to just observe what happens, one of the affected agar wedges have since lost the 'green' patch and a rhiz leg of myc has connected with the plate beneath. I'm just confused.. should the myc continue to expand I assume it to be safe to just try again at transferring some of the myc to another plate?

If you can get a piece of myc there’s always a chance to clean it later, unless you have something like entwined with it that just won’t leave.
But are you sure it was green you saw after transferring and not bruising? I don’t recall ever having myc bruise on plates but I have shite memory. It seems strange that something green would go away. Normally it just takes over my stuff : )
In the SAB just be smooth and relaxed. Don’t rush. I took a long break and was very rusty when I first got back in, until I remembered to slow down. You can keep lids open longer than you think if you’re not stirring things up.

Well that's what I'm hoping, that they continue to grow out so I can rectify my issue should it had been due to my sloppy work. I just had a look at them and only two have retained the coloured area, its difficult to see. My other incline is what I have grown is in fact bacteria and not myc at all . Bruising would be ideal because if anything I was far too relaxed with the transfers, I knew I had no opportunity to manipulate the containers to minimize their exposure so calm and calculated was my only focus on tackling the job. Whatever it is it hasn't taken over the myc, on one plate the myc took over it lol but its suspiciously fuzzy.

Run the physics in reverse. Put them upside down on a surface warmer than the air temp. The condensation will leave the lid and condensate on the agar. I do it every day.

Yeah, I don't give two shits about it. If I want to take a closer look on the plate, I just put it on a laptop upside down for a few minutes and it's gone.

It doesn't help if the environment the entire plate is in is warm. The idea is to get the lid which has condensation on it to be warmer than the agar. I haven't tried this before but this might actually be a good use for reptile heating mats?

Raising the temperature of the air inside the dish will allow it to absorb some of the moisture.

Perhaps, but you're still trying to get that to recondensate somewhere that isn't the lid.

Yeah, and it's probably much faster and less dangerous to harm your culture too. My laptop is just above 30ºC and the condensation disappears in minutes.

That is a good idea, just place agar dish upside down huh so the lid is on the surface is on the laptop?

Yeah, I just put them on the keyboard upside down. If you want to speed it up, give your laptop some work to do, lol.

I have a small space heater under my work bench. So the whole surface is only a bit, but still relatively warm vs the air temp. It takes overnight but I'm never in a rush with dozens of other plates to work with.
