I'm doing a monotub and I read somewhere on the internet that while your substrate is being colonized its a good idea to put bubblewrap, foil with holes punched in it, etc over top of the substrate to trap CO2 in. This helps with pinning for reasons I'm not smart enough to know yet. So I put some foil with holes poked in it overtop of the substrate and left it alone for 2 weeks. This is what I have now. It's stalled. Did I suffocate my mycelium and is there any hope of getting it to pick up again?

If you put the foil over the substrate right after spawning then it shouldn't matter that much but to cover the substrate surface with anything post full colonization is asking for trouble. Im assuming you put the foil right after spawning? And it has been how long since you spawned?
Myc on the surface looks stressed, could be for different reasons but it doesn't look like it's thriving. Elevated Co2 levels were said in the past to help with the colonization but nowadays many growers let their bulk subs colonize in near fruiting conditions, meaning with upped FAE instead of upped Co2 levels.

I've had the best results from just spawning directly into fruiting conditions, so I think the high co2 colozation conditions etc that is advocated is not at all necessary for cubes. Tub looks okay to me, I see what looks like a couple knotts in the top left. Just stick it in fruiting conditions and I think you'll get something. Most likely you just slowed fruiting by preventing evaporation at the surface with your foil. Edit: looking on phone, can't see that well but it might have dried out a bit, possibly needs a good misting

I spawned some popcorn casings and had double-overlay cause I didn't put enough hydrogen peroxide in my automated aquarium mister. I only got one mushroom so I cut off the head part where the seeds fall from and put it in a jar of LC and sprayed it all over a tin of PF cakes I made with gravel, cardboard, and bisquick in my microwave. I think it will be good cause B+ is so potent. Triggered yet? Only a square would say "a cube is a cube."
No, this does not look right...

I put the foil on right after mixing the spawn with the substrate. It's been about 3 weeks. I took the foil off after 2 thinking it was ready to go. I've misted it a few times and there's a little bit of droplet condensation on the surface. I'll try taking it directly into fruiting conditions to see if things help.
