Stalled WBS from spores - advice needed!!
    #26601133 - 04/14/20 05:32 PM (3 years, 9 months ago)

Hi - I am on my first attempt at indoor growing.  I made 5 quart jars of sterlized WBS with a PC, following several similar TEK's but nothing "by the letter".

Anyhow - I initially was going to become proficient on growing on agar first, then inoculate my grains with a good sample.  I got the cart in front of the horse and for some stoner reason I'd already made the WBS spawn jars before I'd even grown a single sample from agar. (Sidenote - I still have not been able to grow from the spore syringe - I keep getting contaminated)

So I put 1-2 drops from a online spore-syringe (Cube B+).  That was on 03/16/20.  It wasn't until about 6 days ago that any appreciable growth was visible. So thats like 24+ days - seems way too slow based upon what I've read in the forums.  Once it was visible, I shook them up and put them back into my incubator (admittedly running a bit cold - ~76-78 F) and I believe I had too much moisture in the jars at the outset which both surely affect the growth rate.  I know I made many mistakes here, but I'm looking to salvage whatever I can.

ANYHOW - here we are a month in and now they're finally showing consistent growth of something but my concern is that this took too long at the outset and what I'm seeing is just some bacteria or other contaminant.

To me, it looks like myc - I'm hoping to get some experienced growers to chime in?  Am I in good shape?  Admittedly I've forgotten more shit than I can remember from this forum - but 30days for ~50% colonization seems a bit sketch.

Talk me off the ledge!
