Factual isn't the same as accurate. Christians, at least some of them, believe the bible is factual, not mythological. Which means that to me, or any other non Christian, they are saying the bible is false. They mean to say it's true, but there's too many inaccuracies and contradictions, which is fine in mythology, it makes the story richer, but not so fine in a factual account.

Ahh, I see. Yeah, the Bible is a good story but not really a historical account.
I do like most of the Japanese myths though with the Kami

What are the main inaccuracies and contradictions?

Finding that sort of thing in Mythology is blasphemous, it destroys the relationship with the sacred that a myth creates. I've done it before, but I put it out of my mind and don't remember any of them because if I kept them the Bible would be of no use to me. It's a beautiful piece of mythology and I don't want to ruin that for myself.

Probably helps that I am not a Christian. It took me a while to come to terms with the beauty and value of the bible. I grew up Pagan and was very hostile to Christianity for a long time, but Zeitgeist, which set out to drive people away from Christianity by explaining the similarities to other myth cycles, actually got me to accept Jesus. Not in the foresaking all others way, but as one of the avatars of the dying god.
