I made a slant for the hell of it.

half of the agar boiled out in the PC but I went for it anyways. Will probably be a pain in the ass to get anything out of it.

Also I didn't realize how long these tubes were when I ordered them.

but if you were asking about the variety its GT.

How'd you get that transfer all the way to the back of the tube? Also, you should fill it more.

I hear yah. I actually filled it 3/4 full but it boiled out in the pc.

I made two of them both times I placed the transfer on the Popsicle stick.

One remained stuck, so I don't know if it'll propagate to the agar at all.

I'm worried I made my grain water agar plates too nutrient-dense, my growth is fairly slow. How long does it typically take for a transfer to fill a whole plate?

I've been running 1% nutrition on my plates and have seen great results... most of my plates are fully grown in 10 to 21 days.

Grain water always sounded inconsistent to me. I guess, if you have your grain tek down, that can be alleviated.

I figure the best way to achieve consistency is going by the shade of brown tint in your liquid. I'm thinking it should be mostly clear with just a faint brown tint.

That sound right to anyone who uses grain water for either agar or LCs?

Using around 7g of lme per 500ml mine still take two weeks minimum to fill out a whole plate.

Probably closer to three.

I thought letting it go to the edge is bad. So I take a transfer and that plate gets put aside.

The straight broth from boiling the Oats.
So, I go for 6 or 7 spawn jars. Which is around 2.75 Oat jar
and 8 L water. Then, when done, I save Oat broth in 500mL water bottles.

Hi all,
noob here who's been slowly trying to learn how to use agar. So far have made a few transfers since inoculating a couple of plates with a syringe. So far I feel as though the growth in most of my transfers looks funky. I feel like I'm either growing/transferring a random mold, or there's a contam hitching a ride on top of the mycelium. Can anyone give an opinion based on the pictures below?

Thinking about tossing the plates and starting over with the syringe, don't know if it's worth it to continue propagating a shit culture.
