Hi guys,
Im super new to this, I just found these next to my house on a walking path and am trying to figure out what they are so forgive the noobness, any feedback/ criticism appreciated!
Habitat: Found along a council garden bed in chip bark, next to young native trees
Gills: Creamy to off white, Stem: Yellowish cream
Length: 30-50mm
diameter, Small ones were about the size of a $2 coin, the larger ones were around 50mm+
color, Brown walnut colour
texture, smooth
Solid stem
Cap: Diameter, color, texture, conical/spherical, convex/concave, etc.
I don't really understand the " bruising" part of all of this but I couldn't see any discolouration on the stems

Thanks for the reply,
I just googled it and I see it's listed as poisonous! This has always worried be about mushrooms, I have always been super interested in them but the mushrooms I found look a lot like Psilocybe subaeruginosa listed in other posts on here
Seems like it's easy to make a horrible mistake....

Yes Leratiomyces ceres are morphologically similair to subaeruginosa but colouring and texture are different. They do not stain blue and they have red caps. They are also more abundant than subs. They are mildly posionous, from what ive heard upsetting digestion causing diarrhea.
At first its easy to make a mistake. Once you know them and other common mushrooms its hard to make a mistake, but still possible.

Thats why the Hunting & ID thread on this site is important. To help those new to hunting...
I was also initially nervous about identifying my finds when starting out years ago. Plenty of mushrooms would bear a superficial resemblance to Psilocybe subaeruginosa. After some experience hunting it becomes much easier to spot those differences. Its also good practice to familiarise yourself with the poisonous lookalikes of what you’re after.
Keep at it!

Very close looking bunch but the lack of blue bruising is a big sign that those aren’t what you want! Also where you broke the stem, you should not see that orange yellow colour to it
