Yeah, I thought I knew. It's escaped me in recent years.
Right now it's just get through this, help my family and friends get through this. That's the only calling I hear right now. Hope I can help put the world back together in a better way once the dust settles a bit.

Money, sex, true love relationship, make love, travel around the world, experience life and existence, raise family, house, car, live in peace n love, dance and celebrate and help make the world a better place. Beyond that, life is meaningless. Unless God exists and a different dimesion than the one we live in.

"Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law." "Love is the law, love under will." Liber AL I,40 and I,57
It's been 16 years since i've discovered Thelema and i still subscribe to this ideal, even more so now. And that's not like a dogmatic, religious trust on my behalf, but rather something that i just feel obligated to attempt to reify. I view love as a current, not an emotion; the latter is a side effect. I also view true will as the idealized personal connection with this current, like a wire plugging into an outlet or a waterwheel turning on a river. This conception is more expansive than the idea ov love as just being something shared between people or will as desire. Love is omnipresent, we impose our own limitations and/or are restricted by the dispositions we find ourselves in. It shall be my duty to re-fine this directive. To realize love in its purest and least restricted form. All matter thus dissolves and those ominous hands that spin upon the clock freeze in their callous rotation. Eternity can be found in a moment, like one's being entire coded into a strand ov dna. I am far from perfect. I fail in realization ov my true will often and am subject to the base desires ov corporeal humanity. And yet the idealization ov love under will becomes my guiding light as i trudge on. The mission becomes more clear. I will die and the world will go on without me. But if i dis-solve the i into the current ov love, all matter is absolved. Shine on.

That’s someone else’s definition of that but it’s not our “true nature”. There’s no real life purpose beyond what you wish to do with your life which is fine. Also Lavod your version of love doesn’t exist. Love is chemical not omnipresent.

It’s not really atheistic I just don’t attribute more to thing than what they really are, like posit a God without evidence.

I don't know exactly, but I'm in a really good place right now despite everything that's going on, and I feel humbled, lucky, excited, angry, and everything else in between, but mostly happy and content. My mission is what I'm doing now, and I'm doing it well apparently. I don't understand the drive to have a mission or a purpose. Why can't people just enjoy and love life for what they have or what it is? My purpose or mission is to be happy and try to help others see the good and happiness in this weird wild wonderful world.

I’d prefer the open ocean. The salt in the air, crashing and rolling waves, the sea life below, and the rocking of the boat as you coast the surface. It’s both terrifying and pleasant.

From what I have observed humans have a tendency to want to reach for “higher” goals or some kind of transcendence. Some argue that’s because of modernity. But I think I can share your sentiments. I don’t really want for much in life I’m just good with living it.

I want a Lamborghini Urus, newly built villa at the sea and a new good looking intelligent wifey to trip with and make love with. Then I´m good. So I have realized that I need alot of money to make it happen. So right now my mission is to get rich. Get rich or die trying.

Then we drive around with Lamborghini Urus, racing a little bit for fun, and has festivities in the villa and dances to music and trip and have sex. True love sex. And create a family. And live life. And explore the world. I said that life is meaningless so what to do other than that really. Maybe seek God and see if there is a heaven. It can't hurt, given that we are still going to die. After all, DMT is interesting. Feels like DMT takes one to heaven.

A few things come to mind
- There are still a few drugs i haven't tried. - Candyflip at least one more time - I would like to go sky diving. - It would be nice to get a masters degree at some point. - Get (and drive) a motorbike. - Get a flotation tank - Live in a zen monastery for a year. - Build that big vegetable garden i'm always putting off. - Travel around and see the world a bit, but not in a glib way. - Memorize the Thousand Hands/Eyes Sutra. - Sit in a sauna, then jump in a icy lake naked. - Have sex. - Help my friends and family during this difficult time (stole this from a poster above but it's heartfelt).
Other than that, not much sense of mission to my life these days. Is being content a mission? Feels like things pass so quickly there's hardly time to pursue much beyond that.

then scrolled through reddit, and got a clear enough sign to come back with an answer to your thread

Everything exists. Love is ALchemical(AL as in Liber AL, AL=31, the key ov Thelema). Emotions are a chemical reaction to experiencing the current ov love. We create ways to better facilitate the current, but we do'nt create it ourselves. Love is 0=2, not 1+1=2. Most people will say that i'm speaking nonsense here and i understand why they'll say that. Except it isn’t true. Love is purely chemical and neurological. There is no current and 0 doesn’t equal 2. You also can’t say everything exists, I mean you can but it isn’t true. Much of what you and many know about love simply isn’t true. Love is, essentially a human fabrication, doesn’t make it any less valuable.
Your path isn’t so much a path as it is willful ignorance.

Buy land.
Con a woman into living and working with me and making babies.
Raise plants and animals. Eat well, smoke well, laugh a lot, learn a lot.
Master a few things.
Pass what I can to offspring.
Reflect.

Also TBA, I'm not sure that's your point. I said no one is a phantom but his view of love is though, love is just chemical.

Bc peoples experience of illusory things that they mistake as inherently existing on their own, like a phantom, or love, is not possible without the body and its electrochemical reactions, thereby making them a a potential side effect or emergent property of said reactions...if you want to slap the ghost - slap yourself. There can be No ghost/phantom/love without the man/body. Maybe the joke/jest of it was lost in internet translation. Or i just suck at it

I hear more and more that people don't want to have kids because of the times and state of the world and the global population blah blah blah.
But the only way we got this far is by people doing what people have always done... make babies.
I am being sarcastic. I've just had a difficult time, between my lifestyle and work load, convincing a woman that living and working a farm in the middle of nowhere and having a bunch of babies is a good idea and a solid plan to live a satisfying life.
They just don't know tho. Once I get the land and build the house... she'll show up.
After the hard work is all done, but ideally sooner.

If you're property is properly set up, managing animals is mostly opening and closing gates and doors to allow them access to fresh grazing areas.
Takes 5 minutes every morning to feed and water chickens and 10 minutes to change their bedding occasionally if they have a coop and run.
If there is food and water and safety animals take very little work.
The garden takes the most time. But even that is made much easier with proper use of animal wastes and bedding funneled into compost and soil making.
Don't even have to have a lot of animals, but if you are already setup for it.. raising extra livestock to sell for meat helps cover your own food raising costs.
A side of good grassfed beef goes for around 2 grand butchered.
Raising an extra 3 cows a year beyond your family's food needs could bring in around 10 grand a year and that's if you pay someone good money to do the slaughter and butchering for you.
If you have everything else you need, 10 grand a year just from 3 cows is a pretty good haul. Not to mention the multitude of other things one produces on a farm.
You definitely stay busy, but it is the ultimate freedom to spend your time as you wish and not have to answer to anyone.

How is staying busy taking care of animals, a garden, and babies spending time as you wish? Unless that is your wish, lol. Seriously, great aspirations. I commend you on it. I personally found having kids to be a completely frightening thought. I respect those that do it and do it well. Not many can do it well. They think they just have to have them for no reason(s) at all whatsoever. I personally think people should be set with money and a stable home/environment before having kids, but that's just my own humble e-pinion.

You make your own schedule and work when you want.
The more you work the better you live and it becomes easy to see the translation in that type of setting. And similarly becomes easy to spend your time tending to your food and water and shelter and family.
Got really high one day and realized that I'm a continuation of an unbroken chain of life that has been expressing itself across many many many years in myriad forms.
If I consciously don't have children... I feel like it's dropping a pretty important torch that's been incessantly passed down since the very first bloop of life and was most recently passed down to me in receiving my own life.
I feel pretty obligated to have children when I look at it like that.
If I have some children, there's a chance they could go on and continue passing the torch for as long as humanity exists and perhaps even further. Hundreds of generations or perhaps much much more.
Again if I don't have any kids, my life and story and legacy and knowledge all goes back into the ground with me. Seems kind of selfish to keep all that to myself.
If you pass it all down, the generations that follow don't have as much trial and error to do figuring things out- so they catch onto life faster. Literally planting seeds.
I don't know. It's where I've arrived after lots of serious thought. I try not to think about the work and cost of it. Just the rewards of completing a circle that was started for me when I was born.
I could just be high about all this, but it seems like a significant part of the human experience. If this is my only shot at being human, I want the fullest, most complex range of that experience.

Good for you and good luck. I do not think its selfish to not have kids, I disagree there. My brothers soon to be ex wife stated something similar when I brought up the kids subject a couple of years ago. "Obligated" seems like it's forced on you and you must comply and if you don't extreme guilt sets in. I choose not to live like that. I'm no role model for sure anyway.

This life was kind of forced on all of us. I didn't sign up for this!!
That's why I suspect there may be somewhat of an obligation to perpetuate it.
All speculation though so I don't think what is best for me is necessarily best for everyone.
But I do think it's a pretty safe bet for most people either way.

Well being born is something that is forced, it’s not a gift it’s done with the parents in mind and not you. There is no obligation to continue the cycle. Sure you wouldn’t be here if your parents didn’t make you but I fail to see how that is proof of anything else.
That being said I want to see a Great White Shark in nature though, also to hold various beetles of enormous sizes including but not limited to: Goliath, Hercules, and stag beetles.

I live my life as I will, I don't try and influence others apart from being kind. I'm constantly being reincarnated though. New phases in life require a new mission and skill set.
As a legacy though I would really like to buy enough blocks in a suburb, plant grass and trees and leave it as a public space. Like a memorial park, except whether or not people remember me doesn't really matter. It's more that they have a space to be. A place to make memories that doesn't cost entry.
Probably a silly dream. But that's okay I guess.

Thinking about what I should be like and how to treat people is the easy part. In reality I'm too quick to label and judge. I think people are doing the same to me which leads to me not being sincere. It's very difficult to form a bond that way. I used to be much worse so that's something at least. One reason I love tripping is that I become the person I want to be, it happens so naturally but it's not quite sticking after the trip.

1. Create things. Art is an ever-moving goal that always pulls me back in, when I'm out for too long.
2. Figure things out, whether it be a new skill or understanding. Usually only applicable to things that interest me, but occasionally involving things that don't.
3. Remain true to self while still experiencing personal growth. It's weird observing the passage of time and watching people remain so stagnant and set in their ways.
4. Hang out with the dog.
