Flow Box Contamination?

Hey earthlings, I am very desperate now... Here's the situation: Two years ago, we have been very successful with PF teks, so we had plenty of supply and prints and decided to have a break until it's needed to grow again. Well the time has come, we are broke on edibles, we have only spores now, so we have to start again. Vermiculite is expensive and we decided to get more cost-effective and learn to grow wheat shakeables. BUT it just never worked! We have crazy contaminations, 90% green mold, 10% absolutely nothing. My BF has lost his patience and left me to run my experiments now. I am very strict about sterility, there is no way those molds come from wheat, I pressure cook them on 2 atmospheres for an hour, so this drives me absolutely insane.
TLDR? Question here: Is it possible, that after two years of not using the professional laminary box, molds got inside its filters and they produce spores, so I am unknowingly flowing contamination right inside my jars? I open them just for a second to inoculate them.

Are you using agar to clean up the spores? You probably have mold spores mixed right in with your cube spores.

1 hour is a relatively short PC time for jars. I go for 2 hours always. That being said, molds shouldn't survive for 1 hr in there, so there's definitely issues somewhere else in the process.
There's probably something about your prints. Cleaning your cultures on agar should help.

Understood, agar that will be. Last batch I though about it and made some dishes. I'm leaving some for control in case it's really flowing from the HEPA filters. Just really wanna know the source of this crap. I guess mixing prints in one syringe was a bad idea?

If all the prints are the same strain it should be fine.
Easiest way to tell if there is a problem with your flow hood is to make an agar plate and just open it in front of your hood for a few seconds then close it back up. If it goes moldy after a few days then you have a problem. I would be surprised if your filter is compromised though.
