Mucus glob at inoculation spot?
    #26599165 - 04/13/20 10:03 PM (3 years, 9 months ago)

A couple BRF jar inoculation sites look like they have a thin layer of mucus on them. They're white, maybe a little transleuscent, not gray or any funky colors. Is this anything to worry about?

M.C. x .77 = H2SO4
HCL x 1.25 = H2SO4

Well, right now they're covered in vermiculite. But before birthing, I filled the jars with water and I could see a gelatinous film over a couple inoculation sites where vermiculite was hanging up in the water. After removing the cake from the jar, I tried to wipe that spot off with my thumb, but it didn't want to go anywhere. It just flattened down onto the cake. (That spot might be a little softer than the surrounding cake.) I'm just wondering if I should separate the suspicious cakes.

I’ve had gelatinous films on cakes and they fruited fine.. I wouldn’t worry about it too much
