Heyo I just got some arugula seedlings started too! Also got my eggplant and some cayenne pepper started.
I'm waiting on some better soil mix this week, all I had was some old shit, mostly curious to see if it germinates. I have to wait till the weekend before I can get everything started, as I've got a bit of a drive out to my folk's house in the country in 4 days, and I have a big ass dog, a big ass suitcase, and a teeny tiny coupe.

I was fairly content, my only stress was paying off the remaining balance on my property. I have paid it off well over half way from my purchase ammount, and it doubled in value after I bought it and despite the pandemic it continues to rise in value, I guess where I live is the new san fransico or something I really don't know.
I am waiting for my unemployment to be approved, but I just want to go back to work and get better at building these machines, impress my bosses
so you're probably either at intel, boeing, or pcp? people like you are the reason it's the new san fransisco. you guys flooding in over the last 10-20 years has fucking destroyed everything. damascus area was so beautiful. now it's all your wanna-be-rich white people. after rereading your thread i have lost most of my sympathy for you. actually, im pretty jealous of you. have no idea how spoiled you are.
you make some good points but you seem very selfish. you live in my home, the greenest valley in the world. you don't actually give a fuck you're just an upper-middle-whatever class (all that matters is my money class) spoiled middle aged white man who feels entitled to everything.
stay in the city grow a garden. get chickens. grow all that shit you can't get at the store
people like you are the main reason the rest of the state despises everything west of the mountains. you're selfish and you destroy everything
I've lived in my State my whole life, live in the city I was born in.

kids need lots of love and attention and i think the world may be a better place if people didn't have kids for selfish reasons and gave them more love and attention especially between ages 0-18. money does not make a better world. it all starts with food. i dream of permaculture and solar panels and floating gardens made of recycled cars and bottles and microfarms and beautiful wild open spaces everywhere filled with native food plants and wildlife
you all destroy fucking everything though. there's really no point. do whatever who fucking gives a shit. im sick of picking up all your shit on the clack and puttin signs up telling you to clean up your camp sites in the mountains. fuck the nuEuroCali non culture stop destroying everything

quit bein a spoiled brat and do something that benefits somebody other than you. grow some plants and birds to eat. do good to your neighbors
These trails here I have hiked my whole life, I leave them the way they are. Haven't been to the Ice Caves since I was 6 years old and want to do that this summer, I hope they're open by then.

My last hiking adventure before the pandemic hit was hiking to an abandoned insane asylum, though after hiking to it I found out you could drive right up to it lol. Took some interesting photos, here are a few I took.

You can't actually get into the facility but I was able to squeeze my body into it through windows and such to take picture s that looks like I was inside when I really wasn't or wasn't completely however I saw these chairs in a courtyard, they looked awfully clean for a building u can't get in and has been abandoned for over 50? years Like people been meeting there.

You should spend a night there solo. Tripping.

Gotta be careful with stereotypes man.
I feel your pain for how development and inconsiderate people trash beautiful places too though.
Everest has gotten alot of attention in that regard lately but honestly it's a tale as old as time. Man's time anyway. I live near the great dismal swamp and it's not nearly as great as it once was because early Americans, founding fathers included, didn't like it.
But luckily they couldn't entirely "tame it" and have it converted into farm land either. Nor could it be turned into a tourist attraction.
I'm not happy people are being denied nature right now but I am happy nature is being given a break from us.

When I occasionally watch those ghost hunters shows and they go the allegedly haunted mental hospitals I always wonder to myself if I could make it through a night completely by myself
Armed with only a flashlight
I don't even think I believe in ghosts necessarily (although I don't rule it out completely) but it would still be extremely freaky being in a place like that by yourself at night for an extended period of time

yeeeahhh, between the asbestos and the probable hobos who may not take too kindly to visitors, that's gonna be a no from me dawg.
I remember I explored a crumbling old stone house once I found deep in the woods, no roads went to it, my friends and I found it on horseback when we were teenagers. We got in there and the place look like a bomb had hit it..old clothes and possessions everywhere - sometime from the early 20th century, the building had a few hundred years though, one of those old stone farmhouses all over PA. It was fascinating, and in retrospect, very dangerous and stupid, as the whole house looked almost ripped in half from the outside.
Later that week we got an earful from my friend's parents who owned the land we kept the horses at. I'm assuming it was a neighbor who called them or something, but I never found out - I guess someone was watching us and saw us go in. Idk who, one of my friends stayed outside of the house to watch the horses, and we were deep in the woods, no other civilization in sight.

It looked like someone left in a hurry and left everything they owned . So weird. I don't think I could find my way back there if I tried.

When I was 18 I took a bunch of shrooms with some friends and found an old wood building, most the floor was missing on the first floor and it was very decrepit, first step into the building a piece of ply wood instead of regular wood was set on 2 floor beams and it flipped over and I racked my self on the floor beam, got up and wandered around and walked up stairs and saw the most incredible looking painting I had ever seen, I was in awe it was the most beautiful painting never in my life could I imagine something so magnificent it was almost unreal so I went to touch it and I fell through the painting and almost out the window because it was a big open hole in the wall for a window. Thankfully my shins caught on what would be the lower part of the frame for the window and I didn't fall out.
