Does anybody out their take Cuttings from plants? And what are your success Rates? I think when you take a cutting From a plant it is very rewarding And the plant gets to understand You more. It’s like starting from fresh.

Cutting is one of my main propagation methods for adult cactus. Cut diagonally when using rooting hormones, more surface area to apply it to. I don't keep detailed notes of my cutting success rates but more often than not, they are successful.
Euphorbias, pereskiopsis, Trichocereus(adult plants and graft offsets), etc. The plants that fail the most are Opuntias, likely followed by Trichocereus, and Cow horn; everything else has a very high or 100% success rate... except roses and a few small tomato cuttings.

I take cuttings from most all of my plants, except for the hard wood types, and the ones that just wont root without hormones.
i have great success in pretty much everything that I take cuttings from.
I even grew an indoor watermelon plant throughout the winter, just to see if i could clone it, for more plants.
I read that this can't be done, but that just isn't true.
I had most all the watermelon cuttings I took root, and make new plants.
Goes to show you, that you can't go by everything you read on the internet, and I have proven all kinds set in stone myths about plants wrong.

Correction, opuntias are super easy
All I do, is break off pads, and stick them in the ground.
And when I check in about month to see if they took, you can't pull them out with a rope tied to em, being pulled by a truck, haha!
I was slightly exaggerating on that last part, but you guys get the picture

Depends on the type. Pricky pears can be thrown out into a field and grow, while bunny ears will rot easily.

I had a few different types growing, and all root very easily.
This is the one that roots the easiest.
Which type is the bunny ears you speak of?

This, its probably not actually bunny ears but its so close that I just call it bunny ears. The actual bunny ears is even more of a pain in the ass to root and grow without rotting. The blue stuff is copper sulfate, I would dip the cuttings in it to kill any fungus.
They absolutely have to stay inside my greenhouse or they will die. They absolutely have to stay bone dry when repotting or they die... unless planted outside for some reason, they don't mind being planted outside but I did lose a mother in the process.

Oh man, that is one tight cactus!
Mine all look like crap now, because of the winter, but they always come back out and look great.
I'm trying to get enough rooted, so I can start eating them occasionally.
I love eating the pads,as well as the fruits, yum!

I wonder what type I have?
It's very tolerant to hard freezes, and drenching rain.

Looks like one of the countless prickly pear varieties and they are pretty hardy. Some grow as far north as Canada and southern Alaska. Pickly pears are Pretty unkillable and even survive salted earth.

Good luck buddy
One thing that I like about the brugmansia, and datura group of plants, is how easily they take root!

I just took a jasmine cutting off my neighbors. Set it in rooting hormone and put it in a patch of dirt in my compost pile. It's been 3 days and it's still doing fine!
