misting cakes/casing

Do you, at any time during fruiting cycle, mist a casing or cake?
I have a casing, 2 cups, and a cake going; just wondering if i should be misting or not.

Second question; my casing has a sealable lid on it. should I leave it open when it is in the fruiting chamber, or close it tight to keep in that extra humidity?

Leave it open, the casing itself will provide its own humidity. As long as your fruiting chamber is correct.

Like Doc said, open in the fruiting chamber, you need them to get a little light and also air exchange to fruit. However I tend to leave my casing covered with cling film while they are colonizing and take it off when I am going to fruit.

When the cakes are bluing do to humidity what would be good, raising the humidity or lowering it? Because of this on 1 of my cakes they had stopped growing as pins, is there a way to help them or would i have to do something with humidity and pull those out to start new pins? Would i have to dunk and do pins over again? Also how would i put this message board in my home page as a reminder to look at?
