I'm looking for golden teacher prints, is there a shroomery vendor in the UK? This syringe I have now the first agar plate just produced trich and now my second one has germinated the same time so I'm guessing its trich again wtf. All done infront of a flow hood and my test plates are clear.

Btw if anyone is interested I have a 6L high dome pressure cooker, ideal for sterilising up agar, LC or cakes. I've got a presto now so no need for it.

Hi Guys happy easter and if your not religious can i have your easter eggs?!

Just waiting for some APE jars to fully colonize, (thanks Ed) last time i did these i pseudo cased at spawning and results were good with no blobs.

I am interested to know if anyone has noticed a difference fruiting these with a Jiffy mix type casing layer compared to a pseudo one in regards to yield? If so what was your casing layer and how was it prepared? Thanks in advance.

Hope everyone is staying safe and healthy.

Kerberus

I'm interested in the feedback you get for this. I wanna do pe and I was thinking of just using coco and verm for a casing.

I had a coir casing fruit fine.  Maybe try a few back to back experiments with shoe boxes.  Fingers crossed its a decent culture...... Options could be jiffy, sand and jiffy, coir and no casing

Seen they sell big weird shaped coir bricks in Lidl middle isles that expand to 10L for about £3 if you were ever desperate and it was an emergency.  Although you’d be much better off getting it online somewhere.

I used to grow cannabis a lot up until last year, had to take a break but I used plagron coco premium, they also do bricks and their quality control is amazing. Their bricks are called plagron coco brix, you can get them from hydro hobby. A pack of 6 for 10 quid from hydrohobby

Isnt the 2 types though? You can get spahgnum peat moss and then just peat moss I'm sure I read that just peat moss has quite a low ph compared to sphagnum peat moss

Just lost a tub to tric. 2 months work gone  :crankey:

I'm now convinced that the variety I have is somehow genetically compromised. Always stalls out.
Colonises slowly to 60 ish % then stalls. Tried in cakes, bulk and even on agar. I've wasted a tonne of time and effort on it. :frown:

My normal vendor is on an extended break and I need a viable lock down project to keep me sane.  Could someone help me out with a print?

Have you started with agar yet? And did you ever get your pc?

I got a decent PC a while back. So I've started using agar.

I used all my MS to inoc cakes before i got the PC though. So I haven't been able to do MS to agar.

Cakes started to pin before 100% colonisation. I tried to clone these pins to agar. The slight contams from the pin surface always out grew the myc. Myc growth has always been super slow whether on agar, brf cakes or spawned to bulk. That's why I'm convinced it's an issue with the variety I have.

Sup gents,

I recently purchased some millet off amazon but unsure if there's different kinds. The grains seem a bit small compared so some of the images seen. Wondering if they're hulled or what?

This is the stuff I bought.. Planning to use this Tek for prep.

I've also got myself some wide mouth Ball mason jars. I'm not ordering plastic lids just yet while these are brand new. Is it worth putting holes in them and adding micropore tape? Or can I just PC them with the lid loose and covered with foil, and leave the lid a quarter turn loose while colonising too?

Cheers boys!

Should be ok with all that. You will need some kind of hole in your lid for ge. Not sure what the lids are like with your jar but I basically drilled a small hole 1/4 inch if I remember rightly and the cover with two layers of micropore before pc. I used to use poly fill but can’t be doing with that no more.

If you don’t have a drill you can just use a hammer and a small nail to puncture the lid.

That’s basically the tek I use as well

That is a bit expensive for grain mate! Try somewhere like this next time. This is red millet but if you prefer the white its £19 for 20Kg delivered, 1/3 the price you are currently paying.

PS. if you need something to store all that grain or just buckets in general these guys are quite good and seriously have every bucket you could think of including UN certified ones! Unfortunately its about £8 for delivery or you can pick up for free which is great for me.

Lovely, thanks for the info fellas. I was just being a lazy ass about the holes, I'll make that my next project.

As for the grain, you might have saved me a small fortune there Kerberus. I'll get through what I've ordered and then get some of the stuff you suggested.
