Commercial Mushroom grower trying some Cubes

Hey guys, I'm a commercial grower of edible/gourmet mushrooms and I have had several awesome experiences growing cubes over the years off and on. I have been using a relatively new tek for commercial production known as the 'Masters Mix'(5lb blocks of 50%Hard Wood Pellets/50% Soybean Hulls in UnicornXL bags). M buddy from a while back shot me 3 syringes of PES HAWAIIAN and I'm wondering if I can go cubes this way? Can I grow em straight out of the bag like normal? Do they need a casing? Monoto Tub? Can I treat it like one big ass BRF cake and use Perlite and a Shot Gun Terrarium?

I seriously doubt it. But I just have a pretty basic knowledge so I'm really just posting to see what others say. I've never heard of that being done before though.

Its emerging as the new meta for Commercial Oyster, Reishi, and Lions Mane production. Very nutritive substrate. Colonizes quickly too. Only ever done a few grain 2 monotub and BRF grows 4 cubes.

I don't think cubes could handle that much wood in their mix. I might be wrong, I'm new to this.

I’d go for one of the proven tek, BODs bucket tek for substrate, much easier to do grain spawn such as millet( I like this grain because many do lightweight prep and works out great for doing bulk in monos). Depending on expect results will determine environment you want to spawn to mono ae certified for bulk grows, BRF cakes will do significantly less(pastywhytes monos the way to go, set and forget.) Cool as shit you doing Commerical on edibles what’s your set up look like? What inspired you start cubes?

I don't buy the whole "commercial grower" thing.

I don't think it'll work. Cubes don't grow on hard wood. Soybean hulls ... maybe. So depending on the ratio of this 2 you might have a chance but I doubt it. But they do great on straw.

You'd be the first edible grower ever that didn't start with cubes.

Lots of commercial growers are really just buying spawn and making substrate blocks to colonize and fruit.
Cubes wont grow off a sawdust block if they do it will be poor performance.
Take your cube spores germinate them on agar Take the culture move it to grain spawn Use coir or manure for your unicorn bags

I'm also doubting you're a commercial grower if you're asking if you can shoot spore syringes into a bag with hard wood & soybean hulls and expect results. Even with the edibles that mix is intended to be used for you need to inoculate with grain spawn.

I did start with cubes. I grew cubes for many years before I grew Edibles. But I always used grain 2 monotub. Wondering if I could branch out!

Correct, everything is grain 2 grain or agar. I've only ever used a spore syringe maybe 2 or 3 times in my life, and I was like 19 or 20!

You can top fruit from bags just like you grow kings. You just cant use masters mix. Use coir instead. Inoculate it with clean grain spawn and it will be basically the same as kings
I assume you're doing your own lab work already? Or are you just buying spawn?
