Go to wal-mart and buy "Pennington's Wild bird seed",thats what I bought.
Just soak over night,rinse,simmer for 30 minutes,rinse thouroughly,drain for 20 minutes,load jars nad pc for 90 minutes.

I'd go to the pet department of your grocery store and buy the store brand. They're not wasting money on pesticides...

Hey give it a try like I said,just make sure you rinse it really good to remove all the unwanted stuff,and simmer to pre hydrate before pc'ing to ensure proper water content. Let us know.

home depot has the cheapest WBS ive found, 40lbs for $8. Its mostly white millit and some sunflower seeds with some sticks. Grocery stors carry it too but if your going to a petstore buy cracked corn. It works just as well if not better.

I've read that white millet is preferable but I don't necessarily agree. I find the red variety to be heartier and mycelium seems to attack it and barely colonize the white. But wait! Here comes someone with a different opinion....
Apparently either will work just fine.
