Hey all! Been out of the game for a while and finally decided to get a new grow going in Feb.
This grow, like my is following the pf tek, both times I purchased sterilized jars because I didn't do enough research ahead of time (I ended up buying a grow kit and that was pretty unnecessary in retrospect)
Anyhow I continued to read the wonders of this site while I waited for the supplies to come in.
Ended up getting super paranoid about shipping spore syringes so I ended up asking around and getting some from a buddy instead, GT & B+.
The grow kit I purchased recommended noccing the jars in front of/ in the open oven to use the convection currents... meh seemed to work ok. At this point I have made an SAB, and intend to do agar->LC->Grain from now on anyhow.
Didn't go too bad though, out of 18 3 jars showed no signs of growth ( Sticky plunger and I didn't shake them so they clogged up) 1 had trich and one showed sectoring so I tossed it because I really couldn't tell if it was ok.

The rest worked out ok, they showed growth within 2 days but took ~5 weeks to fully colonize the 1/2pt mason jars (yes I also know that this is not optimum) they were the skinny ones not the wide mouths
anyhow birthed the puppies on 3/28, the GT jars had a couple of invitro pins so I decided to cut one of them in half and place em on agar.
Here's the same one two days after I made a transfer, stayed clean until then, must have introduced some contamination.

I've been having trouble picking up wedges and placing them with the scalpel.
Just did T2 a couple of days ago on some fresh poured plates. Things went ok but I wonder about some texturing that I see around some the plates edges. Can't tell if it's just that, or if it's the start of bacterial growth. Getting the light like this was the only way I could get the bottom edge to show up in the photo.

Was excited about using dyed agar this time
Here are the cakes that have been sittin in the SGFC, the GTs are popping off way more vigorously than the B+. Is that to be expected from MS cakes? The top six are the GT's

Getting really excited now. Working on getting some clean cultures and to start some LC's of Black Morel, Blue Oysters, GT, and B+. Going to go grain with coir.
Any feedback, questions, comments, and suggestions welcome!
---------------------------------------- update: these little buddies are growing fast! now I'm harvesting before my dehydrator gets delivered. Going to end up following primal soups Tea tek in order to save it for when I can trip!

Happy Rainbow Farming Every Body !!!

Welcome back RyeHumor! LoL looks like you got some good things going on there. Always hard to tell with MS or cakes why some fruit before or better than others. But you're doing a clone and once you get that cleaned up you won't have the MS factor as a variable. Be sure to save some prints for yourself using this guide so you can keep keeping on.
Good job!!!

Ty will definitely be making some prints and slants (already made one because I'm impatient) even though it's probably a bit early in the xfer's to be doing that.
Thanks for the link!
