Hi Community! I have been absent for quite awhile, but not in spirit! Went to one of my hunting fields early this morning and was in and out in less than 30 minutes. Don't have habitat shots because it was before sunrise, but found enough for a couple great journeys! Looks like the season is now beginning for the H-town area. Good luck! Safe Hunting & stay healthy

Nice Finds👍 I Haven't Seen Any In My Fields Yet, But I'll Be Checking After This Little Rain We're Getting. They Should Be Popping Up Pretty Soon.

I was pleasantly surprised how quickly I found them glowing in the dark before dawn. I was hoping to find some copes, but no such luck as of yet. I'm hoping during the next month that they will be sprouting up everywhere, but need additional rain. I'm finding them more out in the open. The hotter it gets, they should start moving into the shaded areas. Looking forward to celebrate with a journey late night Easter eve. Peace!

Went out to my same hunting ground this morning and spent a couple of hours. Today is probably the last day until we receive a decent amount of more rain.
 Some that were partially dried!
Now here are some habitat shots!

Here in the NW Florida panhandle Copelandia showed up extremely early and in cool weather, late January and February they were the only actives, cubes are starting to become more abundant but have been producing all winter.

Normally the cube season is spring into part of summer until it gets too hot, then sometimes pop up November into mid December until a freeze. The copes occasionally will see in spring but sparse. During the summer you can find them along with the cubes, but September thru November you will only see the copes and can be very abundant!! I call them blue meanies. I know that Florida can produce year around. That makes me jealous!! I've been pick cubes since I was almost 15 years old and I'm 59 years old this July. I have literally picked hundreds of pounds of cubes in my lifetime! Strangely, I didn't know about copes until around 2006. I missed out on a lot! Tonight I will have a late evening ceremony and enjoy some of them for an Easter celebration! Peace!

Went last week and found a few more cubes! Surprised I didn't find more than I did, but was grateful for what I found. We just received about 1" overnight and the hunting will continue this weekend. I did find this group from another location that I had been eyeing due to my regular spot received no rain.

While I was hunting, I ran into this beautiful bird!
This next photo had me stumped!! I originally thought that it was a few active cubes, but found out that they weren't! They were growing in hay that was spread out on the ground. The stems were skinny and white showing no bruising. The gills were brownish. Should have made additional photos for identification! Sorry! My Mistake!

Don't forget to fill out a Psilocybe cubensis data collect sheet, click on the link in my signature to fill one out, The more data collected the better we can understand what makes them grow by understanding the conditions they prefer in the wild and what their true fruiting seasons are in certain areas.
edit: as well as the true distribution range.

Nice Finds & Yeah The Mushrooms In Your Last Picture Are Not P. Cubensis. They Are Non Actives That Have A Very Short Life.

Here is my next finds coming from an old hunting field I haven't been to in 6-7 years. Was very pleased with the results. Found my first copes for this spring. The grass was extremely tall and difficult to maneuver! One of the cubes was about the largest I've found in some time!
Here are what I call copes! others may call them pan for short.

 Here are my Cubes

 Big One!
 It's Brother!

Was satisfied with the hunt, but not easy to spot! Peace!

Here are my finds from this morning!

 Here a huge one!
This grouping had over 10 large cubes!

Are these subs? Don't have much experience here.
I brought home 1 1/2lbs of shrooms this morning. I plan on going to another of my hunting locations tomorrow morning if all goes well! Peace everyone! Good Luck Hunting!
