I think you contradicted yourself?
The response from the governments of China, Italy, Spain, Great Britain, the U.S. was ordinary at best.

Wuhan travels restrictions were lifted today, after 76 days of lockdown. I'd like to know why the Chinese government thought it a good idea to berate the Aus government over lifting travel restrictions in mid February. That diplomatic 'request' is about as far from responsible as you can get.

I like how selectively you avoided literally the next sentence: South Korea, Singapore, Germany, as my examples of competence.

https://uk.reuters.com/article/uk-swinefever-china-epidemic-specialrepo/special-report-before-coronavirus-china-bungled-swine-epidemic-with-secrecy-idUKKBN20S18U

Reuters article on how China's initial under-reporting of covid-19 was similar to their cover-up of African Swine Fever.

Quote:

In April 2019, the national agriculture ministry said the central government had allocated 630 million yuan to cull 1.01 million pigs to contain the disease. But that money either wasn’t sufficient or regularly did not get paid out, farmers told Reuters. None of about a dozen farmers who told Reuters they tried to report outbreaks said they had received the promised 1,200 yuan for each pig.

Many got nothing. Wang, the Gushi County farmer, said that almost a year after his pigs died, he has received no recompense. Gushi County officials could not be reached for comment.

Many farmers, eager to salvage value from their herds, have resorted to sending their pigs to slaughter at the first sign of illness - thereby thrusting the virus into the human food supply. The swine fever virus does not threaten people. But its presence in meat - where it can survive for weeks - creates a cycle of infection because many backyard farmers feed pigs with restaurant scraps that include pork.

Quote:

Cover-ups across China - coupled with underfinancing of relief for devastated pig farmers and weak enforcement of restrictions on pork transport and slaughter - have enabled the spread of the livestock virus to the point where it now threatens pig farmers worldwide, according to veterinarians, industry analysts and hog producers. Since the China outbreak, African swine fever has broken out in 10 countries in Asia.

The vacuum of credible information has made it impossible for farmers, industry and government to tell how and why the disease spread so quickly, making preventive measures difficult, said Wayne Johnson, a Beijing-based veterinarian who runs Enable Ag-Tech Consulting.

That's great they're helping put out the fire they started.

The point I was making above is that the middle order officials probably kept this under wraps until it was too late.

China has lost 14 million people from the virus, has "disappeared" many people for speaking out  about it, let it spread abroad, and are now blaming others for their own incompetence for releasing this virus on the world from their own virology labs. AND THEIR THE GOOD GUYS? maybe they became the good guys when they started arresting and torturing Hong Kong Protestors, or maybe it was when they fought radical islamic terrorism by genociding all the Uygurs and replacing them with Ethnic Han colonists from central china, maybe it was when they invaded Tibet and attempted to kill the Dalai Lama. maybe it was when that Winnie The Poo looking motherfucker started giving predatory loans to african countries knowing they couldn't pay back and had to use Chinese workers and companies who would then settle in africa. Fuck the CCP and fuck you, you are so driven by your hatred by Trump that you would rather support a authoritarian shithole that would rather see us all dead. just because they tell us that there numbers are going down doesn't mean jack shit when people can see the sulphur dioxide from all the burned bodies from fucking space.

Getting back to the OP, maybe the thread should have been titled

"After initial bungle, China steps up as global leader against coronavirus"

Quote:

After mismanaging the initial outbreak in Hubei, China enacted a lockdown across much of the country, and turned the mechanism of its surveillance state to trace the movements of everyone who may have been infected and enforce the strict lockdowns.

In particular, the practice of quarantining patients with minor symptoms away from their homes helped drastically reduce the spread of the virus in the community.

Currently, almost all cases being recorded in China are from returning travellers, and while questions remain about whether China can now restart its shuttered economy without a second wave of infections, it is the largest example of how to rein in COVID-19.

Many governments responded quickly and appropriately. South Korea, Singapore, Germany, just to name a few. I would also argue that China responded appropriately once they realized the magnitude of the problem, which considering they are likely ground zero, is pretty understandable. Even then, less than a month before confirmed patient zero and full on national response.

I think an interesting tidbit is that of every pandemic simulation the US has ever run, none of them have ever modeled that the US, the previously undisputed leader in biomedical engineering (definitely disputable with Covid-19, heh), would fail to adequately test and track the illness. I'm trying to find the specific quote, I've posted it in one of these threads already.

This is part of why there was a delay. Government failures prevented adequate testing, and failure of testing mean that the pandemic plans that are in place in every hospital never triggered until it was way too late. Which is why we now have medical supply shortages. Normally, the pandemic trigger comes with mass buys of medical supplies.

Unrelated: China has beat the US in number of patents this year for the first time ever. China is now #1 in scientific output by volume of peer reviewed papers (as of 2018), #1 in renewable energy, #1 in mechanical and civil engineering, and #1 in patenting new technology. I expect them to pass the US in biomedical engineering in the next year due to Covid. If they get a vaccine to market before us, we are done.

We are officially #2 in science and technology. Still #1 in gun violence and Covid deaths, though!

China steals all its IP's. They dont innovate.

The left started in France with something called the Reign of Terror.

China executes more people than the rest of the world.

Well, China has officially managed to steal more IP than the US created, then. They're so good at stealing shit, they've stolen shit we haven't even invented yet. That the thing about accusing other people of theft. If the other person is doing more than you, calling them a thief sounds kind of disingenuous. Normally, thieves can't steal 110% of the loot.

And yes, the "reign of terror" was pretty terrifying for kings and the aristocracy. They kept getting beheaded. I take it you think the left was in the wrong.

Tell me, would you prefer to live under an absolute monarch? Seems like China would be your kind of place.

The left was in the wrong. They killed many innocent people because they didnt agree with whatever those in power at the time thought the fashionable ideas were. Those ideas changed as the revolutionaries beheaded each other as lefrists do. They have no values except whwt abstractly appeals to them...:whatever:

You arent really saying anything. China has worse technology.
China is a place that destroyed its past and has crumbling low quality buildings, and is known as the place that infected the world and reinstituted their disease markets.

Chinas place is gone. It was a distant second anyway

China will be first soon. All the experts agree on this. Arguments about not liking their actions or their ideology can't change that. Arguments about them stealing technology doesn't change the fact that they will be #1.

China like the U.S. has a very capable technological elite. What they have that we don't have is an over supply of low wage labor, and to put it bluntly and succinctly, their workers are Chinese.

All the arguments we used to make about a planned economy not working in the Soviet Union, well you don't hear those arguments anymore. China has injected a certain amount of capitalism into a communist system and it is very efficient.

China isnt. Ive seen arguments why they arent going to be forst economically, politically, and geographically.

The experts you are listening to are wrong unless they are going by china's middle class that counts people making $4000 a year as 'middle class'.

Chinese technology is very behind ours and what they have they stole. They have no ability to project and havne been able to in all their history.

China didnt inject capitalism into their economy. They have a couple cities where they opened up, and one of them doesnt want to be chinese. Their growth has alrrwdy started growing, and their growth long term compairted to the US isnt good at its best.
Worse, their growth is mowtly manufsctured through IP theft, currency manipulation, jobs thst dont produce value such as the many empty poorly built apartments all over China.

Literally every single one of your arguments applies to the US.

In other news, diaper donnie has announced earlier today that the coronavirus is just too smart, and he can't keep up with it.

Quote:

"No, one of the biggest problems the world has is the germ has gotten so brilliant that the antibiotic can’t keep up with it, they’re constantly trying to come up with — a new. People go to a hospital and they catch — they go for a heart operation, that’s no problem, and they end up dying from problems. You know the problems I’m talking about.”

I included the senseless ramble, because it's probably a secret Q code or some shit, I don;t know.
