Hi all and happy holidays!
I'm a first time grower having couple of teks going at the same time, agar, grain, monotubs, and PF tek. Just getting some practice experience to find which suits me most.
This post is about the PF tek. As can bee seen in the images, I have fully colonised BRF cakes.
BRF cakes. Week 6.

They were inoculated 6 weeks ago. Fully colonised 4 weeks later. I was about to birth, dunk and roll them but read some advice that I should let them be for another week and only birth them once pinning can be see within the jars (in vitro primordia).
1 week later there was no signs of any pinning and I decided to take the cakes out of the cupboard where they happily lived and give them some light.
So another week later I can still see no changes. It is now 2 weeks after full colonisation. My worry is that there is something preventing the pinning within jars such as high co2 (just guessing here) even though there are 4 x 1/4" holes double taped with parafilm. And it would not pin even if another week is given.
Naturally my questions for more experienced cultivators would be as follows: Should I birth them now or give them more time? If later then how much more?
Perhaps anyone got any similar experience to share, steps they took to resolve, and what the results were?
Thanks in advance!
I have read the following old thread but did not really get an answer. PF Tek-Jars not pinning How long can you leave colonized BRF cakes in jars?

Yeah, take that parafiln off the top of the jars. They need FAE, its one of the pinning triggers.
U dont have to wait for pins in the jar, however seeing them in the jar is a great indication that the jar is fully consoldated. But a fully consoldated jar can start pinning in your FC. Invitro or in FC both work great for this step.

Ill start with throwin this up here https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/24144021 Lotsa good reading there if you havent found it yet
As for the jars, theyll pin when theyre ready to haha, if you felt like it you could dunk n roll now if youre satisfied that they are completely colonized, even in the middle. Or do a half n half type deal then you could have some going while observing the others n waiting for some invitro. If memory serves, mine started pinning shortly after the cake started to consolidate and pull away from the walls of the jar

I don't believe that you have to wait for pinning to birth the jars; only full colonization and a 1 week consolidation period. I have a few in my SGFC right now thay did not pin in the jar, but are starting to pin now.

As soon as a jar turns full white, wait 7 more days then fruit.
They look good and if they've been fully colonised for 2 weeks birth them straight away.
Pins will come once you birth it, water evaporating/air are major triggers to pin... Won't get much of either if it's inside a jar
