As I said, I know what Niffla's intentions are and I think that they were great. My point was that some people, especially people that are losing a parent or loved one to Corona, might view those comments about survivors in a different way. When your parent is dying alone with tubes down their throat then you don't really want to hear about the number of people that made it through.

Niffla and anyone else can post whatever they want. My intentions aren't to tell people what to post or not. I'm just giving my view of how it may come across to some and that is all.

Yeah yeah, you said that already.  Why don't you wait for someone with a loved one with corona to say how it bothers them instead of being the "offensive police"?

Do you really think if someone has a parent with it that hearing how many people recover won't help give them some hope? I'm sorry but this seems like common sense and I'm not sure why you need to keep posting crap like that

Looks like the US is settling out at 1900 deaths/day

I'm not being the police at all and I never told anyone what to post or not to post. All I did was give an opinion. I made it clear how I feel and I only posted it once, besides to respond to other peoples comments about it.

How do you know that I don't have a parent suffering and dying alone and that I'm not talking about my self? I don't like people trying to make this positive when it is anything but positive. If he or anyone else wants to continue then that is their choice.

I'm entitled to post my opinions just like everyone else is. I never told anyone what to post or not post so don't tell me.

The number of deaths is a latent indication of the number of infections...  800 people died in NY today. suggesting things are 'settling out' is reckless... Not that 2000 ded a day isn't a fuck load. I just think it will be a lot more if you give any indication that its slowing down, when its speeding up.

A lot of things we find out about this are going to suck... The world will look different. It can't be ruled out that the spread wasn't intentional

A guy I was elbow to elbow with Monday March 30 went to the hospital two days later and tested positive.

I've decided to stay in until Monday just to be safe so if I've got it I don't spread it around.

I was talking to that guy's boss yesterday and he said the gentleman told him it was like a super mild case of the flu with a fever and a dry cough.

What is the most scary part to you guys?

To me it is that people keep getting reinfected. If we can keep catching it again and again and there is no vaccine then our way of lives will be miserable. We will have to walk around in space suits and avoid people at all costs. Imagine getting this and having to be intubated 2 or 3 times a year. I'm sure people will be taking their own life if that happens, or even to prevent that from happening.

Tell me if I'm wrong

No one that I've seen in this thread is trying to make this into something positive because it isn't but there are things we can look at that give us hope.  If you can't appreciate someone trying to spread some hope in the face of crisis, then fine.

Moving on...Where are we on those "recovered stats" Niffla?

Loph I'm sure others are tired of seeing this dead horse get beaten, but for the last time (I swear everybody), me posting the recovery numbers was NOT me "making this positive". You're saying it as if I was like "yayyyyy this is a time for celebration we just had our 75,000th survivor let's uncork the champagne!!".

That's not what I was trying to do. I would hope that would be obvious. What I was trying to do was, in the midst of all the awful news, which there is an ocean of (and justifiably so), I wanted to offer a nice little tribute to those who had it but survived it. That is all. To give some other posters here who may actually be interested in those numbers a post of hope here and there in between all the death. And it's still really just amazing and surreal to me that I've had to actually defend that. But okay that's fine.

I had a nice & short little exchange with feever and seriously_trippin, yesterday or the day before I think, it was friendly, and it was over and done with at that point. Since then I hadn't posted any recovery numbers. Shit I still haven't since then as a matter of fact.

And I'm sorry if I kept repeatedly being sarcastic because after I replied to you the first time your first response to me after that was very respectful. So I apologize.

We still cool, broseph. And I consider this shit over.

:fistbump:

I will still post recovery numbers every so often for those looking for a glimmer of hope and good news in all of this. And it IS good news. It's not to downplay the virus or the seriousness of what's going on or a celebration of any kind. As I mentioned before for those who don't care about the recovery numbers, it's easy, just scroll right past them. Or if it bothers someone enough there's an ignore feature that like 10 or 11 are already utilizing on me so feel free to be the 12th, 13th, 14th and so on

Have a good night everyone and like zZZz is always remind us:

When good things happen and people hear about it, it boosts what is known as morale...a nurse in the story said, "This is a huge morale boost for our staff who are working day in day out to provide the best possible care for our patients.”

Yeah, of course we're still cool. Like I said from the beginning, I know what you're tying to do and I think it was a great thing. I was just trying to say how it could come across to some people because so much bad stuff and death was happening. Then you kept being sarcastic about it so it felt like either an attack on me or that I hurt your feelings somehow.

I definitely wasn't telling what to post or not post, so keep on keepin on. And everyone else please stop trying to start shit.

Why would you hear about it? When do I ever post anything personal besides stuff about my job. I don't think I have ever posted anything about my family and don't think I ever will. Some stuff stays private. You obviously aren't able to comprehend what I wrote and what my intentions were.

This was actually a conversation between me and Niffla and I don't think we needed your input. Thanks for nothing though.
