Look not to be a stickler or anything but could you please kindly stick to new confirmed cases and death updates only?

Thank you.

Guys please, with all due respect, can we please keep it to future cases only?  I’d like to be prepared, thank you.:nerd:

Electing a reality TV hos
Corporatism, greed, and capitalism out of control killed this country

I think the main issue destroying this once proud country is that we have two parties stocked full of petulant, spiteful children masquerading as "adults" and refuse to sit down like respectful human beings to work on their differences and find some common ground to push this country forward. And their core bases are just like them. As kids we're told that adults are supposed to be different and respectful, even if they disagree on things.

But instead what appears to be the majority of this country's adults act exactly like children do. They resort to name calling. They aren't respectful with one another and they don't work together. It's sad and embarrassing and to me it's the #1 reason why this country is failing.

If only we could delete both the democratic and republican parties and their whacked out core bases and just get a do over.

It is as though we are seeing politics through the eyes of Peter Pan. Yet so true.

These people had it. And survived it. That's a good thing.

I will continue to post the recovery numbers. For those who are bothered by that and only want to see the confirmed cases and fatality statistics then by all means feel free to use the ignore feature.

Until then I shall salute the survivors

:cophappy:

I agree that it's great celebrate people who make it through, but it's also important for people to realize that simply not being dead doesn't mean that having this thing can't completely upend or ruin your life. That's something that almost no one is actually talking about.

When the one current (albeit likely temporary) solution that the actual experts have for this is to socially distance yourself, and there's a large percentage of people who still believe it's a hoax and are refusing to do so, focusing on the positive is not really the approach for anyone concerned with harm reduction.

It'd be similar to talking about how many people use heroin without dying from overdose, while there's an opiate epidemic going on. Sure you can celebrate that I guess, but you can also come to the conclusion that highlighting "positives" gives people more incentive to be less cautious, and the consequences are real and severe.

I completely see where you're coming from and normally I'm all for positivity, but I also see the potential for one person's ignorance on this topic to kill other people who are actually taking the very many consequences of this thing seriously.

I was going to say something similar to this. I get that Niffla is trying to be positive or something, but I have a feeling that if he had Covid or a loved one died from Covid that he would not be posting positive shit about Covid.

To some people it comes across as a belittling of the virus or a belittling of the people who died because of Covid. When Columbine happens you don't make a list of the people who survived. When 9/11 happens you don't make a list of all the survivors. When the Vegas concert massacre happens you don't list the survivors. To me it seems to be in bad taste, kind of like saying "Hey guys, Covid isn't all bad, it does let some people live". I know Niffla and I know that isn't his intention, but it can come off like that.

Yes, it's good to be positive and remind the sick that they can make it through this, but I don't think this is a time to honor the survivors and I don't think it's the right place or time to bliss out and think of puppies and rainbows. People are dying, becoming incredibly sick, and losing their financial well being and security. Reminding people that their are survivors doesn't help east the emotions that any of that stuff brings.

Fine. You guys win. I will join the parade and post more death stats and stuff.

For the record though I wasn't "blissing out and thinking of puppies and rainbows". Or belittling the virus or taking lightly the seriousness of this situation. Or celebrating the virus "because it's letting some live". I am of course aware that people and families have been devastated by this.

I was merely posting a statistic that might bring a shred of positivity to those who feel like they're underneath a constant black cloud these days because of this shit.

I am deeply sorry to have offended anyone for having the nerve to stray from the path of doom and gloom and how we are all going to die.

Here:

Worldwide deaths: 91,783

US deaths: will be 25,000 by tomorrow morning

US confirmed cases: over 450K

The USA will also be passing Italy in deaths soon too.

Happy?

Can you return to the positive argument?

You know....I looked up COVID cases by zip code in Broward county.  One area is way out west where rich people have these 3 story mansions.  Some of these homes are opulent as fuck.  They have the most cases in the county, 433.  The other area is one of the poorest.  Tightly packed, small homes with several people living inside.  Haitians, Jamaicans, Hispanics.  162 cases.

With all the screw ups from the cruise lines, I wonder if a lot of the well off people got off the cruises not knowing they were sick and infected people going to restaurants, bars, and grocery stores, and that's how that happened.  We may never know, but to me it explains why the two hardest hit areas of my county are wealthy versus poor-piss poor.

We just need to take better care of each other.  Like we all gain some collective awareness that we're all in this together if we like it or not.  Black, white, democrat, republican, gay, straight, bisexual, transgender, racist, or whatever...we're all human beings having a human experience.

people should be prepared to deal with these circumstances for the next few months at least or we wont be close to making this work and millions will die.

There are families just vegging out together on the trail, at trail heads. People need to wear masks and stay distant to do anything involving public spaces. A lot of people who are out right now are the ones who dont take it seriously. I'm almost certain it will get bad here.

the dog prolly got the rona...

Yeah, but we won't. Just like most of us realise that we are the problem, very few of us believe that it is I that is the problem.

I'm really pissed about all the dumb shit I saw today.

just entering my hood there were people planting flowers in the mulch volcanos that killed the trees lining the street. As I was looking at the horror there was a dood in the middle of the street picking up one leaf at a time and placing it in a little bin. If I killed him Idk how much I would care. I mean I would hate to have killed him but I wouldnt feel guilty.
